dismal continued by Connie - 06/26/2009similar to Coconino Humane. The organization received funding from the County to operate the County owned shelter yet had 501c3 status to seek additional funding on its own to help meet operational needs. Paw Placement with which I have no affiliation, is a small organization in the community comprised solely of volunteers that does a fabulous job sustaining itself with fundraising. What percentage of Coconino Humane’s budget comes from their efforts in development and fundraising?I voiced my concerns to the city council and received no response. The current leadership of Coconino Humane should be evaluated and consult from the American Humane Society of the United States should be sought. An independent outside auditor should be hired to evaluate fiscal integrity. Flagstaff is a great community; I hate to see its reputation tainted by this shelter.
