My truck broke down and I had no choice but to have it towed. I called Howard's because I remembered driving by their shop on my way to work. They picked me up right away and repaired the problem while I waited. The price was very reasonable. I was so happy with my experience I have used them again and recommended them to a friend. My friend also had a good experience and was glad I sent him there.

THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR VEHICLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!After waiting over an hour for them to arrive. We had our son's car towed to Howard's lot and was told that they would not release his car until my son gave permission. My son's dad stopped by to get some stuff out of the car and it was no longer there. He was told that the insurance company picked it. We told them that we never gave permission to release it. So I called the police to see if i could make a stolen vehicle report. The police called Howard's towing and asked where the car was. They told the police to have us call them back in an hr so I did. Howard's tow company told me they made a mistake and would send me the paperwork showing who released it and who picked it up and where the vehicle was. It has been a week and we still have not received the paperwork. Now my son is going to file the police report since we are getting the run around.

DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE THIS "BUSINESS!" I have been dealing with a child with inoperable brain cancer. When you think things can't get worse, her brother's car gets stolen. Unfortunately, he only had liability insurance because he couldn't afford anything else. The lowlifes that stole it drive it to Olympia, strip it and light it on fire. On top of this, he fractured his hand the next day. Thurston County dispatch calls him in the middle of the night to tell him his car was found and he needs to come pick it up. With no car and a broken hand, he says he has no way to get it so they ask him, "Do you want us to have it towed for you?" Since he is young and has never dealt with anything like this, he mistakenly thinks they are offering to help a crime victim and makes the mistake of saying yes. The next day, Steve from Howard's Towing calls my son demanding $400 for towing the vehicle a short distance! My son is off work due to his injury and has no money. I am pouring every extra cent I have into my other kid's cancer treatment. I call Steve myself, explain our recent run of terrible luck, and ask him to just give my kid a bit of a break on the excessive charges. He tells me, "I don't care about your problems. All I want is my money and if he doesn't pay me I will sue him for it." So, not only are they dishonest and charge inflated prices, Steve is a heartless, soulless half-man who deserves to be run into bankruptcy. Please help this happen by never using this business for anything. And if you see Steve, tell him what a worthless piece of you-know-what he is and that he better hope that, if he ever finds himself in a bad situation, that the person he deals with gives him more of a break than he gave us. And if they don't, he is getting what he deserves. Thanks!P.S. And if, according to another reviewer, the rates are "contracted" and that's what they "have to charge" does the local Sheriff get a kick back? It's a ripoff and it isn't right.

Those are contracted rates. They have to charge those prices due to the fact that the police called it in. They were not overcharging you, they are contracted by the local police agencies and have to charge the standard rate in the contract. Same with the storage. If you knew anything about running a tow company you would know that and understand. And as far as the $65.00 for the tow that' a fair price do you think that those trucks pay for themselves. Why don't you go buy a $20,000.00 truck and give away free tows.

Had my van in for repairs at another shop - 8 times - yet it continued to have problems...took it to Howard's - diagnostic was free - they found the problem...went to great lengths to find me a good used part (Ford wanted $200 for new part) only $20...Took care of me with now hidden agendas and I would recommend to anyone!

They run ridiculous fees and rip off unfortunate customers! I had a car accident on I-5 and my car was not drivable. The police called Howard's towing for me. I was charged $265 for a towing that it is less than 2 miles from I-5 to Howard's shop (802 4th Ave E); $80 storage fee for 1 day & 12 hours (I understand it was considered 2 days). They hit me with another $65 to tow my car to a body shop across the street. Howard said this is the price for a wrecked car! Stay away from this business at all cost. Sep 3, 2009
