We contracted Homeplace Furnace to come out and clean our duct work about two years ago. From the quality service, professional technicians and courtesy to our home that was shown, we decided to contract them again. This time, they installed a new furnace and a/c unit. Once again, they were professional, timely, and did a great job! Homeplace is a company that i would happily recommend to friends and family
Service good-- office-customer service very poor

This was our first experience with this company and the workers that showed up did a good job but the office support staff rate a minus (-) When the work order was initiated nothing was stated in reference to method of payment. And after the fact there was a 5% charge for credit card use, had we known there would have been a check on site but nothing was said until the job was completed. (This was a gift to the family).When I called the office, Mike said they do not state office procedure on the phone. I could write a check for the full amount and they would reverse it from our credit card once the check of received. The amount he told me was the amount that included the 5%. I understand that some will say they will pay and not but this could have been handled in a different manner if customers really matter to the company.

The customer was upset that we did not arbitrarily divulge the forms of payment we accept when she called to place the work order. We are happy to provide any information needed if asked, but we were not asked. We have not raised our prices for 14 years and try to maintain very fair pricing. However, we are charged 5% of the billing total by your credit card company every transaction and that has added up to thousands of dollars a year in losses . Typically, all added costs to any business are built back into the price of goods. We could either raise our prices or simply charge back the 5% to the credit card users. We felt that recovering the 5% loss to those using credit cards was the fairest way to handle this increased loss. We offered the customer to reverse the entire charge on her credit card if she wished to issue a check. In fact, we would have happily accepted half payment on check and the other half 30 days later. But all options we offered were declined by her.
