Description
Ministry is not just what we do as a church… it is a vital part of who we are as followers of Jesus. If you are new with us, please checkout out some of the fantastic ministry opportunities here at Harvest.I love to serve!
Our service philosophy is pretty simple. The reasoning behind why we do what we do comes right from the words of Jesus, whose example we are to follow:
“Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave--just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” -Matthew 20:26-28
If you are new to this whole serving thing, then this is where you start--with a taste of ministry. This would involve you looking at the various ministry teams and service opportunities here at the church and deciding on one that interests you. At this point you would e-mail that team’s leader and tell them that you would like to get a “taste” of what their ministry is like. Each of our ministry teams have a number of opportunities that are designed to give you a good overall feel for what that team is about.
At Harvest, the environment for connection, care and shared spiritual growth is found when we engage in community... and relate to a few people at a more personal level.
While worship experiences with hundreds of others can be powerful, you simply cannot be deeply devoted to a mass of people. Devotion takes place in small units, just as it does in a family where people pray for one another, eat together, worship together, learn about God and encounter Him together. LifeGroups are about...doing LIFE together!
Connect and Grow in a LifeGroup! (Striving to fulfill the biblical purposes of fellowship and ongoing discipleship.)
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)
