Nice place, rude owner by Matt Engels - 09/22/2009Our extended family has come to Hartman's Log Cabin resort for well over a decade. The environment is beautiful, the cabins are so-so. They don't get much attention and some of them are falling apart inside and out. But hey, they are fairly inexpensive. What I can't deal with any longer is the absolutely rude owner Robert (Bob) Canody. He is someone that dislikes people, yet is in the customer service business. There have been many occasions when Bob yelled at wifes (waiting for their husbands to not be present), and then lie about it later. There have been plenty of instances of him yelling at and accusing senior citizens of various things. These incidents have increased past tolerable levels in the past 3 or 4 years. We have finally had enough with paying this buffoon another dime to get treated like garbage. Please note that Bob's wife, Lorna, is lovely and understanding. Summary: Nice environment, decent prices, failing cabins, absolutely horrendous people skills on part of
Small World by E - 05/09/2009Every summer my grandpa would take us to Twin Lakes, we would wake up in the early hours to go fishing. My husband had a very simuliar experience with his father when he was growing up. So it was only natural to have our honeymoon there! We had a nice cabin overlooking the lake, it was clean and well stocked. The rusticness of the resort brings back memories as well as starts new ones. We promised each other we would return every year, unfortunately that has not happened. We visited a couple times with our children, and are planning another trip, we have stayed in the same cabin three times and it is now fun to see which cabin we will receive! My son loves visiting with the warm welcoming people in the restaurant and store... I would suggest this be back to the basics retreat to anyone -
Fun Times water skiing, swimming & fishing!! by Lorna Canody - 11/17/2008Our family had the best time at Hartman's. It is the ideal place for a family vacation. There is something for all ages. The log cabins are clean, the restaurant serves giant hamburgers and homemade pies(huckleberry cobbler - yum), and the employees are helpful and pleasant. Give them a try. You won't be dissappointed!
