Sue was great to work with. We take our goldendoodle there for grooming and she does a terrific job. Her skills and experience really show when we pick our dog back up after a grooming appointment (which is very reasonably priced). We also use her for obedience training which was also very affordable and beneficial to both the dog and to us as the owners. She was knowledgeable and willing to help us with any questions we had about training or general tips for issues we may be encountering at home.

This is a very closed minded p...

3/21/14 as a follow up, the review that claims to have been in the same class as me is a phony review. If any review is not valid, it is that one. There were only two other dogs in the class and both owners are personal friends of mine that agree with me and will never take their dogs back as well.

ORIGINAL REVIEW- This is a very closed minded person that thinks that her way is the only way. My dog of 11 months old was well versed in the commands that I had taught him. I wanted to socialize him and figured that enrolling him in a class was a good way to do this. The instructor demanded that I abandon the word commands that I had already taught my dog and change to her commands even after repeatedly showing her that the dog obeyed using what he already knew. After numerous times of explaining that he knows the commands under different words than she uses, she still demanded her way. I do not care what word is used as long as it is understood between dog and owner. If peanut butter means sit to the dog then peanut butter should be the command. (not the case, just an example). If someone is looking for a training class for their dog, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. At this point, I am calling my enrollment fee a learning lesson for myself and will never return to that place.

great dog training

Happy valley is very knowledgable about dog training. I was in the same class with that person who wrote the negative review in march 2012. He was not open to any suggestions the instructor made to help his dog learn. He was very argumentative. The instructor saw that his dog was confused because of his commands and she tried to help. All he did was yell at her. His review is not a valid review. Happy valley taught me how to train my dog successfully and made me understand how my dog thinks and how I could better teach my dog. It was a 5 star experience. Whenever I have a dog that needs to learn, I will go to happy valley. They really know how to make training your dog fun and easy.
