He is one of the few Endo-Perio dentists that has extensive training in microsurgery and provides all types of complicated microsurgery, conventional root canal therapy, and periodontal disease treatment.

Dr. Hansen attended Montana State University -Billings, Montana State University -Bozeman, and the University of Nebraska for dental school. He was a microbiologist before going into dentistry.

Dr. Hansen was a former USAF flight dentist, with the Strategic Air Command, and the 29th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. Dr. Hansen was a dental examiner for the Western Regional Examining Board for 16 years and spent 10 years on the Montana Board of Dentistry, of which he was Chairman of the Board , for 2 years.

Dr. Hansen is a member of the American Dental Association, Montana Dental Association, the American Academy of Microscopic Enhanced Dentistry, the American Association of Endodontists, the American Academy of Periodontology, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
