Hall street grill has long been considered one of suburban Portland’s most venerable dining establishments and continues to thrive after more than three decades in the restaurant business. A local favorite of businesses and families alike, Hall Street Grill was established in 1976 and has been locally owned and operated by Steve McLain since 1993. The restaurant specializes in the kind of cuisine Oregonians have come to know and love – traditional American dishes prepared with a distinctive Northwest flair. At Hall Street Grill, this means serving appetizers like the Dungeness crab and quinoa cake and entrees such as cedar planked wild salmon and Carlton Farms pork Osso Bucco. Executive Chef David Bloomfield uses local and organic ingredients whenever possible, building exciting and unique dishes with largely house-made components. Hall Street Grill also features a wide selection of local wines, not to mention the specialty cocktails and Limoncello made in-house.

The Oregonian and City Search have consistently awarded Hall Street Grill each year in their annual Dining Guide for providing a great experience, both in the dining room and affordable happy hour. Hall Street Grill was also recently included in Portland Magazine’s “Best Bars” list and in May 2008, USA Today reported that the restaurant was listed (alongside with the world-famous Chez Panisse) as one of the best places in the country to “make a meal out of a salad”. These characteristics, combined with customer service that rivals some of the best in the industry, makes Hall Street Grill the perfect destination for everything from business lunches to family dinners. For private events, a recently remodeled private dining room provides ideal settings for banquets and intimate gatherings. Hall Street Grill is a truly destination restaurant for any occasion, a stellar example of a neighborhood location meeting “downtown” cuisine with seamless results.

A large part of Hall Street Grill’s success is owed to the team of Chef David Bloomfield and General Manager Sam Sharaf. Their commitment to excellence has allowed Hall Street Grill to engage guests and maintain a consistently high level of service and food quality. However, Sharaf and Bloomfield, along with proprietor Mclain are never satisfied with the status quo and are always looking for ways to keep Hall Street Grill shining above the rest. In the summer of 2007, a half-million dollar renovation re-imagined the restaurant with a modern décor of deep red accents, rich leather and marble bar tabletops. These latest touches, along with the newly landscaped and covered 76-seat patio, provides a tranquil escape in the middle of the busy downtown Beaverton, with ample free parking to boot.
