Ask questions

by Keri , 12/15/2014

I went to the St.Paul location to get some general information about what HRI could do for me. I have alopecia and have for 22 years and I am ready for a change. I was nervous but excited as well. The staff was friendly and inviting and I felt they were knowledgeable on my condition and what would be the best choice of service for me. I was quoted a price for a partial prosthetic because I have a lot if good hair growth to work with and although I was referred to Bloomington for a more accurate quote I was told the quote I was given was on the "high" end. Excited that this may be attainable! I went to the HRI in Bloomington and the disappointment began as soon as I walked in the door. It was not as warm and inviting. In talking with the staff at Bloomington, I did not have good hair to work with and I would need a full prosthetic; which in turn doubles the cost and as a result longer an attainable goal. I do not disagree with the cost, or what they can provide their clients; however I am disappointed in how I was given information that was not accurate. I was embarrassed to be shuffled through the lobby with tears flowing down and no one calling to touch base with me until I contacted them a week later. So my advice to you is to ask questions and have then write everything down for you! Maybe go straight to Bloomington!

Check it out for yourself!

I have been a patient for over 5 years and I can actually say it still chokes me up thinking of my life before "hair". I'm blessed everyday when I look in the mirrow. HRI is my answer to prayer. After trying any and everything...nothing worked, by chance I ended up here after a referral from a co-worker. I really believed there was no hope, I would just have to live with thin hair and people wondering what was wrong with me, what happened to my hair. After my consulation, I decided to try one more thing...this last chance. should see me now. (Seriously if you want to see pictures...let me know). I know it seems like everyone is trying to see something that doesn't work the way they claim and I have been there not knowing who to trust or what more you should try, but believe me, you won't regret it. You owe it to yourself to check it out. I have the wonderful thick hair I had when I was growing up. I can shower, go swimming, curl it, straighten it, be in the wind..AMAZING!!!!

Response to owner

Not to get technical, but the MEP-90 is FDA cleared, not FDA approved, and no they are not the same, FDA approval is much more stringent than clearance but I digress. If you bothered to look at the date of my post, you'd have seen that I wrote it BEFORE the MEP-90 was cleared in February of 2010. At that time you didn't have a doctor (not including your hair transplant surgeon) and you didn't have any lasers that were FDA cleared (except the lasercomb). The clearance of the MEP-90 doesn't change the fact that on this site befroe the MEP-90 clearance you were claiming that you were using lasers that had FDA approval when you knew that to be untrue. Last point, why should someone have to pay for missing an appointment when they've already paid for it? What "reasoning" do you use to justify double charging someone?

Hair Restoration Institute does have the only clinical FDA approved laser devise. It's called the MEP90. Viewers can go the the site to confirm. It is a medical devise that requires a Dr. percription. Our Dr. is Dr. Nortan Abramson. 34 years experience. For full credentials on Dr. Abramson, you may go to We also give a warning to the patient first before we charge for missed appointments. It is common curtiousy to call if you need to cancel so that another patient can use the laser. Sorry Bill you are miss informed whoever you are.

I found the Laser Hair Therapy to be everything the hair loss consultant explained to me. Not only did I stop my hair loss but I actually regrew a significant amount of new hair that I didn't have before I began the treatments. The devise they used to count my new growth was amazing. thank goodness for a clinic that has as much passion and compassion for people like me who once suffered from hair loss. PF
