Wonderful! by MeMe4A&J - 10/08/2009My husband and I are from Texas and we travel 365 days a year due to his assignments and we were in Cedar Rapids for a couple of months.Always looking for good Greek/Lebanese food we found Vernon Inn. What a surprise!! It is very, very good! Their Hummus is wonderful and the pita is to die for, can't get enough!! Gyro plate is terrific and the combo plate is the way to go. Stuffed grape leaves are the very best I have ever eaten (and we have eaten at many Greek places including Greek Town in Chicago).The lemon soup was a disappointment though, too dark, not creamy and light colored and lemony as we prefer. This is a definite must try place in Cedar Rapids!! Forgot to mention the Service........very friendly and accommodating each time we go.
Vernon Inn by CR diner - 10/24/2007Great Greek food. A little pricy but worth it. Try the sanganaki as an appetizer and the combination is the perfect way to sample all of thier speciality dishes. The Chichken a la grecke (sp?) is the best roasted chicken anywhere.
