Do they exist or even care?

I had a magnet for The Golden Rule on my refrigerator. They are a local company, in fact one block from my house. My first experience was plumbing. When I called them the lady said they were closed and they would have someone call me back. I did not recieve a call so I called another company. Giving them another chance, I called them a few months later when my air conditioner was having problems. They scheduled an appointment between 1pm to 4pm. They called me at 4:30pm to cancel because of rain. My issue was with a leak in the unit located inside the house? Again, I called another company. I am really big on true customer service, for example a genuine apology would be a start. I use to support local companies, but cannot anymore in Grimes that's very hard to do, due to the fact that they are more concerned with other things rather than the little people like their neighbors. Oh well, they make independent contractors happy!
Poor Service and Communication

Drippy faucet - simple enough problem. Instead of figuring out and telling me what was causing the drip, the service call guy and his side-kick put together several "options" the least costly was replacing the washers for $108, all the way up to tearing into my bedroom wall to replace the entire faucet system for $900. This was after they tried to sell me a service package to check my furnace and a/c. I didn't call them for my furnace or a/c. The whole thing felt like some kind of amateur scam and I just wanted them out of my house. They also tried telling me my copper pipes in the basement were probably bad and needed replaced. The pipes are PVC all the way to the stack. Clearly they thought I was some kind of easy rube. Beware.
Overpriced by a mile

I know a former employee who just couldn't work there anymore knowing the mark up this company places on all items. For instance a $10 part that took 15 minutes to put on was charged out around $400.

We were out of hot water when we called and they arrived in less than an hour and completed the installation the same day They truely live up to there name!

I have been a Golden Rule client since 2006, and every year they have been excellent and caring. We purchase the annual plan, and we don't have to worry about anything. They are client oriented, and explain every detail of what they are doing and what needs to be replaced. They can be a little pricey on certain items that require to be chaged but overall they are a service we can trust.

I can't say enough about Golden Rule, they are a class act. This was their 2nd time to our home to repair a problem. Our first visit was a plumbing problem the second was a heating and cooling problem. Both times they were extremely prompt, courteous and fixed our problem. The repaimen were kind, respectful, knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend this company. Thank you for helping us in our time of need.

Had orig. furnace & humidifier serviced. Later purchased and had new furnace installed.Had air conditioner serviced. All three good experiences. Friendly, informative sales and service personnel who neatly & efficiently performed work with no messes left behind. Happy with recommended service, parts and equipment and reasonable pricing. Would recommend this company to anyone for heating and plumbing needs. WHY CAN'T ALL BUSINESSES BE LIKE GOLDEN RULE?
Fast efficient service

I had a slow draining bathtub and made an appointment. They were here on time and gave me a diagnosis along with two different options for repairing, which both were very reasonable. They took me to the basement and showed me exactly what was wrong and what would be done and had it fixed in no time. Very courteous and caring repairman, as well as receptionist who scheduled appointment. They even have a coupon on their website that you can use. I would most definitely call them again.

Had a sump pump drain line plug up. With our area having a high water table and thus the sump pump cycling quite often I needed someone there ASAP. Called Golden Rule and they arrived with in the time specified. Quickly got a temporary fix done while giving several permanate options to the problem. I will call them for future needs.
