I always had a fear of dentist. I had a bad toothache and found this dentist who was close to my home. Initial she was very sensitive to my fears and very accommodating to my needs. In December 2017 I began to have a sensitivity issue with a tooth in the top back of my mouth. Dr. McMenamin told me I needed a filling. I paid a copy for that visit. Went back to get a filling and paid another copay. This month March 2018 I began having issues with the tooth and gum area. I went and was told I needed scaling. Paid 60 odd dollars for her to tell me that and was told to come back and additional copay would be $84 dollars. March 27,2018 My fear became of dentist became a reality. McMenamin applied the pink jell to the cheek side of my gum and allowed the numbing to take place before injecting the needle. She said I’ll let you get numb. She came back about ten minutes later and asked if I was numb. I told her on the jaw side but not the front of the tooth. This is where my life changed...she said ok let me numb you there. Dr. McMenamin wiped the gel on my gum and immediately stuck the needle into my gum!! I have never in my life experience so much pain in my life!! I screamed and she said, “oh no I’m sorry” and then injected me a second time where there was never any gel applied. My Body didn’t know whether to throw up or pass out. Not to mention for some reason my gum did eventually get numb but my tooth pain became excruciating. I told her and she did not reply. She did the scaling procedure and at the end she asked me to bit down on a gauze. My tooth hurt so bad I couldn’t. Then Dr. McMenamin said, you need a root canal this didn’t work. I was in more pain then I had been in the entire time I’ve been dealing with this tooth. I asked for something for pain. She said do you have Motrin left. I replied through pain and a swollen mouth saying, “ this is not Motrin pain” she said ok I’ll write you a prescription. She wrote a prescription for 4 Tylenol 3. Stay Away!!!!!!!!!!!!
