Compassionate and Professional
by Marijo , 03/20/2015
We were vacationing in the Lake Placid area with our beloved 16 y/o poodle. It became apparent to us that his health was deteriorating rapidly. We made the difficult decision to "let him go" and began our search for the best place to handle this. After reading the reviews on Heartland Animal Hospital we made the call and set up an appt. for that morning. Dr. Reddick and her staff could not have been more caring and compassionate. It has been one of the hardest things we've ever had to do, but there is no doubt in our minds that we selected the best place to take our Rusty. We chose to have him cremated and his remains arrived today in a beautiful wood box. Also enclosed was the cremation certificate and a beautiful copy of "The Rainbow Bridge". These folks are amazing! Wish we lived closer to Lake Placid as this would be our Veterinary choice if we ever get another dog.

My first visit there, such care and concern Dr. Reddick had for my dog and myself. She was extremely gentle with my nervous dog. I was shocked as to how little it did cost me for my first time visit and "patient file" to be set up (no charge on that), don't see that very often today.I will be bringing my cat in for his yearly check up.
Gissendanner is the best

I've been to Dr. Gissendanner numerous times & he always makes me crack up. I love his sense of humor & his love for the animals, not to mention he isn't out to rob everyone blind like other veterinarians. When you are in a bind, he will always make it affordable so your pet still receives the best care. I refer everyone to Dr. Gissendanner. I wish more vets were like he is. In addition, he has a feral cat plan where he will fix cats for free. You can't beat that. No one else offers that in town.
best vet, hands down.

Dr. Gissendanner is simply the best veterinarian I have ever known. He truly cares about animals, and has a wealth of experience and is a skilled surgeon. Your pet could not have a better doc.

It's been a long time since I've been to a vet who I feel is more concerned with the animal's welfare than the bottom line. I've brought as many feral cats as I could trap to him. Prior to that I was paying full price at other vets who were despite the fact they were getting paid in full were more annoyed to be having to handle wild strays. When it comes time for my inside animals to receive their yearly exams & vaccinations - I will be changing to Dr. Gissendanner.
