Gate Tech Inc Gate Tech is proud to be serving the communities of Hillsborough, Manatee, Polk, and Pasco counties. Located in Plant City, we are a small family owned and operated business. We seek to provide our customers with the highest quality products and service. Gate Tech Inc started with Leon Pelham in the 1970's when he began installing fence. Eventually this beccame Pelham Fence. When Mike Pelham took this company over in the early 1990's, the foundations Gate Tech Inc were layed as Pelham Fence began too venture into gate operators. In 1996 Gate Tech Inc was formed to sell a new product: the Gate Tech Slide Operator. There are more details on this innovative product below. Gate Tech Slide Operator This innovative slide gate operator was one of the first to adapt several new technologies. One was the slow start/slow stop, which today is a standard feature on most operators but was almost nonexistant at the time. It was also one of the first direct drive operators utilizing a gear box. Many operators today utilize this system rather than belts or chains.
