HORRIBLE MONKEY WORKING THERE

DISGUSTING, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT, CREATE COLLATERAL APPLIANCE DAMAGE - PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. Avoid this so called "Appliance Service" company. They are quick to respond to a service call to collect their "insurance company fees", but refuse to stand behind any work they do when they don't repair it correctly, nor will they take responsibility for any additional damage they do to your appliance while they are incompetently claiming that they are "trying to repair it". Once Fields Appliance Service attempts the repairs and than subsequently gives up, no other reputable appliance service repair company (A & E, for example) will even attempt to "clean up their mess". Even if you are able to find another service provider to look at your appliance, once they examine Fields Appliance Service's work, they identify numerous erroneously attempted repair items that Fields has attempted which are technically incorrect and further identify additional operating or cosmetic damage damage that the customer is not even aware of. If that is not egregious enough, Field's schedules service appointments in advance, requires that the customer confirm the appointment, then unilaterally cancels the appointment without contacting the customer at all. Fields doesn't value your time - exhibited by the fact that they rarely make any attempt to contact you in advance to tell you they are not showing up to an appointment that they previously scheduled.

I never write reviews but have always read them. Reading the posted reviews... I am shocked. My whole family and I have used and referred Fields Appliance for over 25 years. We have always had a great experience with them and have had no negative feed back from any family members, friends and other customers. Being a business owner myself, I know that it is common for a tech to call customer support. Also some techs are faster at a repair than others and billing can be based on a labor rate per part not time of installation. Based on all the reviews sounds like any long term standing customers do not have a problem with Fields Appliance. And Happy People Normally Do Not Complain :) Thanks guys for all the years of great service - Sheila
Unethical & Deceptive

FIELDS APPLIANCE IS FRAUDULANT AND DECEPTIVE. They have tried to repair the iced over freezer on our 48" Kitchen Aide 4 times in the last year for a whopping $1,300. They last charged me $433 for a defective inverter board. When they came out and saw it was defective, rather than replacing it, they gave us ANOTHER $1,200 estimate for a complete system rebuild (2 men x 6 hrs at their standard $100/hr rate). We got Orlando Ground ($45/hr 407-234-8327) to repair it (and that same inverter board was only $117), who guaranteed that if they didn't fix the problem, we wouldn't pay a dime. When we asked for a refund from Fields Appliance for the defective part and labor, they refused, insisting they get another crack at repairing our fridge (at their usual rate). FIELDS APPLIANCE IS UNETHICAL!

Very disappointed!!! This company charged me $89.00 for a service call then another $75.00 labor for installation of a $32.50 part. When I questioned Fields about their hourly labor rate, I was informed that they did not have one. They based the labor on difficulty of the repair. Seems to me that if it only takes the technican 15 minutes, start to finish, paperwork included, to complete the repair, then obviously it wasn't too difficult! Found out later, would have been cheaper to call Sears!! Next time I will!

N.E.W dispatched them for my Whirpool washer that broke Sept 11. I informed them of the fault code 28, which I found in the web as "comm error". The tech showed up with a pressure switch and had to call Whirpool for the correct direction. A week later he came back with the board and damaged it during installation. He blamed the supplier for "being cheap and not sending it in a casing." I had to wait another week. I asked to be put first in the AM as this was the third visit and they caused it. I was still put 4th in line without any regard to my schedule. In my observation he is minimally qualified to do remove and replace, but relies on Whirpool for true diagnostic. Further, they should have owned up to the fact that they are the cause of this third visit and done different scheduling.

I sometimes wonder if people who fill this out are competitors trying to ruin good competition. My name is Julie I live in the Lake Nona area. I had never heard of Fields till this morning. We had a flooded room caused by a Whirlpool Washer that was delivered last night. Fields got us in last minute for a repair, showed up on time, not only explained things in detail but sent a very professional and knowlegable repair person (Tim). He worked directly with Whirlpools customer service and got the part overnighted. I read these horror stories and got instantly worried. After their visit I would reccommend this company to my 80 year old mother.
Find another service provider!
by John Schooler , 09/17/2009
I called them at the recommendation of my appliance dealer yesterday with a fridge/freezer that isn't cooling. While polite, they took my info and said the earliest they cold come was 10-12am this morning and that I would receive a call 30 minutes in advance. I called again this morning stressing that I had to have someone today. They said that they weren't going to make the time commitment, but that someone would be here before 1pm. They finally called at 12:43pm and I returned the call in 15 mins. At that time they said that the tech had left the area and had a Dr.'s appointment so they earliest they could schedule would be Monday, three days from now. I consider this to be a total no-show and highly recommend that you find a more responsible service provider.

I have used Fields Appliance Service several times during the past few yeas. I have never been disatisfied ever at their level of service or their polite technicians. Kevin Barry
