On August 21, 1972, a group of twenty-two Christian believers gathered to start a non-denominational, multi-racial church in Fayetteville, North Carolina. That church would come to be named Fayetteville Community Church, dedicated on the principles that the Bible is the inspired word of God, salvation is only through the power of Jesus Christ, and that a personal, everyday, powerful witness for the Lord can be had through salvation, baptism, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord provided Fayetteville Community Church with the McNairy Building in Eutaw Shopping Center for the first service to be held on August 27, 1972.
We began to search for property in the Fayetteville area, and the Lord helped us to find, and purchase, five acres of land off of Middle Road. We worshipped in numerous other buildings for the first five years of the church until a building could be erected on the Middle Road property, where the church is still located today.
Our motto was, and still is, that we live by the great commission, and believe in “loving God, and loving each other”.
