We have asked the customer to bring in the watch to verify his complaint but, as yet, he has not done so. We have never sold fakes in our 32 years in the business and will never do so. Our reputation is built on honesty, veracity, integrity, and originality of any timepiece we sell. Until we can see the watch this customer has, we cannot determine what the situation is. We record all of our serial numbers and even have our watchmakers put their secret signatures on the interior of every watch we service so it will be easy to determine if we have ever had this watch in our possession once we can examine it in person. One of the reasons that we fully warranty all our watches is so that there is no blind purchase. We stand behind the originality and authenticity of every piece we sell and know that there is some other circumstance in play here. We have never sold any fakes so perhaps you are confusing us with another shop, also on Belmont, or perhaps someone else has changed the movement in a subsequent service. We never have replaced any original movements with plastic as this is anathema to us. We have always focused on customer service and delivering the best possible restoration work in the vintage field.
