Real-life attractions permeate the museum's nine discovery zones, where youngsters enclose themselves in giant bubbles, groom life-sized horses in a stable, and use their hands and feet to play virtual pianos or pop virtual balloons projected onto the floor. Whereas older children can build their own adobe wall in the Homes Around the World area, kids aged 3 and younger can watch wild birds from an observation window or don woodland-creature costumes in the Wonder Woods. Along with its hands-on exhibits, the nonprofit museum stimulates youngsters with a slew of outreach programs. It keeps the art studio stocked with supplies that kids can use to unleash their creativity and invites more than 100 artists younger than 18 to exhibit and sell their work in the annual Museum Go Round. The museum?s summer camps and weekend programs cover kid-friendly subjects that range from performing drama to breaking down the tax code clause by clause.

Parties at the explorium

3/23/2014

The explorium itself is nice for school trips or just to take your child there for the afternoon. However, their parties are definitely not worth what they charge! My sons party package was $300 and I booked almost 3 months in advance and was told that we would have a nice party room. When we arrive the door was still locked nothing was ready and they had put us in an office on the 3rd floor! The floor was disgusting! One of my guests told the hostess she would vacuum if she would bring it to the room. The party was suppose to start at 1:30 and they started setting up at 1:30 and they didn't even have the birthday boys chair in the room until 2! The only think the hostess did was remind me of how much time I had until I needed to be out of the room! Some of the kids that was suppose to attend were sick that day so we had a surplus of ice cream and one of the parents asked for an ice cream and the hostess said no even though I ended up with less than the 16 kids the package provided for!!! Should I go on??? It was horrible my son had fun yes but parents for your money it's a waste!!!
