Good Shop with helpful and friendly service
by Max Wyatt , 11/19/2013
I've gone to Eugene Fastener a dozen or more times to get fasteners. As far as I can tell, they have the largest stock in town. They are helpful even when I'm looking for an esoteric part or only need a few items.
You'll pay top dollar but they'll probably have it.

If you can't find the screw, bolt, nut, pin, key, holder-on-er thingie you're looking for here, you'll probably have to order it on line. You'll probably get it cheaper on line as well, but if you need it today, and you've got to have it, and you live in the Eugene area, this would be the place to find it. They don't excel at customer service. This is a contractor focused shop, so you need to know at least a little bit about what you're asking for. Don't expect a lot of hand holding. You need to be assertive and decisive, or you'll wind up blinking like a shy doe in field. Quality merchandise though.
This is the type of business you hope will go under

I went into Eugene Fastener first thing in the morning looking for a common metric bolt. They did not have it but said they would check with their supplier and call me back. Fine. When at the end of the day they had not called back I called them. They were irritated like I was being a pest and said "We'll call you when we know something. Probably in the morning." When they had not called by noon the next day, I went on the internet and found my bolts within 15 minutes and ordered them. Even though I only paid UPS Ground this east coast supplier shipped from a west coast distributor on the west coast and I had them NEXT DAY. That is service. Five days later and I still have not heard from Eugene Fastener. Rude, inept, unprofessional. As much as I hate to see local businesses fail this one deserves to.
