My cat was misdiagnosed by MarilynC - 10/20/2007My cat had a urinary blockage, and was misdiagnosed. We spent $50 to be told he was okay, only to end up having to have him catheterized the next day. I don't think I'd take another pet here, regardless of the hype for this place.
Great for true emergencies by rick l - 09/03/2007Dove-Lewis is a wonderful EMERGENCY vet facility. If your critter is in a life-threatening crisis there's no better place. But, AFAIK, it is not a place for minor injuries or routine care.
Their fees are high, but that's partly because they do a great deal of pro bono care for the sick, injured, homeless and/or helpless animals of the city.
But, if your pet doesn't need the rough equivalent of the Mayo Clinic - you'll probably be happier elsewhere.
poor care by Crowley - 09/01/2007We took our cat in on a Friday evening. We knew he had a "cat fight infection" in his leg. We waited for over 3 hours while no one else was in the clinic. The staff was rude and tried to push extras for a hefty fee. Usually when a cat has this type of injury we get an injection of antibiotics as well as a script for home meds. Not this time. They wanted to charge just to shave the injury site..what the heck? The only reason we brought him in Friday night was because he was really meowing in pain, otherwise we would have waited till the AM. We waited after the care for 40 MINUTES to get our bill and meds.. We were livid!!We will NEVER EVER use this clinic again. We have used Northwest Vet care on 82nd in the past and loved it.
