Awful by horsesetc - 08/03/2009These girls run a completely shady operation. Everyone who knows them or has ridden with them has the same complaints; late to lessons, occasionally dont show up to lessons/dont call, play favorites, smoke, gossip, lies, and rude to fellow competitors. They have frequently put some of their riders in danger by putting them on unsuitable horses and making them jump fences that are too big/complicated. Although i have not personally witnessed it, ex-students have claimed that their horses are NOT well taken care of and frequently used in as many as three lessons a day. Look elsewhere, there are many other trainers in Tucson that will do a MUCH better job at anything youre looking for.
Doubletake Equestrian by JRCindy - 11/24/2007This facility has two large airy barns for 48 horses. The grounds are very well-drained. I saw many barns swamped after the summer monsoons, but DTE was dry. Two large competition arenas with three turn-out arenas and two roundpens. At the south end of Rita Ranch off Houghton.
I know the management. They live on-site and are all about the horses. It is a family atmosphere, which I like. I strongly recommend them for any discipline or breed.
