The mission of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services (DVSAS) is to support individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault and to lead the community towards ending these abuses of power.
Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services is a county-wide, volunteer based organization that serves individuals of all ages affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. The agency provides client-centered, accessible services which promote empowerment, choice and safety.
The organization is committed to the provision of a full spectrum of victim services in the community, including crisis intervention, shelter, medical and legal advocacy, support services and prevention, education and offenders treatment.
Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services takes a leadership role in providing collaborative ways to engage the community in becoming active participants in ending domestic violence
and sexual assault.

Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County (DVSAS) offers a variety of services to those who are currently experiencing or have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault. All services are free and confidential. Our services include:
24-Hour Hotline
The 24-hour, confidential hotline may be the easiest way to access services. You will immediately be put in contact with a trained advocate who is available to listen, answer questions, and give referrals.
Walk-In Services
We are open to walk-in clients Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. Upon arrival you will meet with an advocate who can assist you with your needs.
Support Groups
Confidential support groups for male and female survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Groups are held at a variety of locations including at DVSAS, the Department of Social Health Services, and many Whatcom County schools.
Crisis Intervention
Emergency support, safety planning, shelter and housing referrals.
Ongoing Advocacy
Personal, ongoing support through the healing process. If you are a student, we can meet you before, after, or during school, as arranged by a school administrator.
Legal Advocacy
Immediate support with Protection Orders, police reports and court proceedings.
Medical Advocacy
Personal support through medical exams following an incident of rape, sexual assault, or domestic violence.
Social Service Advocacy
Help navigate social service agencies, such as Child Protective Services, DSHS, and the Bellingham Housing Authority.
