My husband experienced similar situation, was overcharged for removing thorn from his finger.

PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WITH DIGNITY HEALTH, IT COULD SAVE YOU THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND OVERWHELMING UNDUE STRESS. ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT DIGNITY HEALTH IS A NON-PROFIT COMPANY THAT RECIEVES MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN GOVERNMENT SUBSUDIES AND DOES NOT PAY FEDERAL OR STATE TAXES.

I made an appointment Dignity Health Urgent Care in Ahwatukee on 5/8/18 at 10:41am for a 4pm appointment (email conf # 2539380) for mild lower stomach discomfort that I thought was indigestion. I was then called by the receptions at the urgent care and told not to bother coming to the urgent care and had to go to their ER across the street for my appointment. So, I unfortunately and regrettably listened to a Dignity Health receptionist diagnosing me in her mind over the phone while refusing service. I then showed up at the Dignity Health ER in Ahwatukee. I was taken back then asked by a RN what was wrong, and I explained my mild discomfort that felt like indigestion. They then came in and took my blood pressure and a blood and urine sample. The doctor then came in for 2 minutes and spoke with me and I repeated what I told the RN. Then WITHOUT giving me a physical exam or touching my stomach or touching me at all, he just said that the nurse will take me back for a CT scan. I then regrettably went for the CT scan. The doctor then came back with the results that I was constipated, and he handed me a print out of items to purchase over the counter. Maybe another 3 minutes with the doctor and now 5 minutes in total. See charges and also the payments made by my insurance below.

I just find this completely outrageous and mind blowing that they are seeking more than $4,385.00 for a CT scan, blood work, and urine reports that I did not need in the first place. If I would of went in there without insurance my bill would have been a significantly less. I was refused service at the Dignity Urgent Care then sent over to the Dignity Health ER where I could be utterly taken advantage of by a doctor/facility that failed to do something as simple as perform a physical exam of my symptoms on my left stomach. I would prefer not to have to post this as a review of my experience at Dignity Health Urgent Cares and the Dignity Health Emergency Rooms. My invoice # is P0199994.
