Considering a pool consider this by
jme k -
Are you considering a New Pool! Consider this... I am so upset with Desert Springs Pools for the issues with my pool that I will act as a consultant for free on your project provided you choose any other pool company. I will tell you the pitfalls of each aspect, I will tell you how you will be misled by the contract details, and I will tell you how to prevent issues before they arise. If you want I will give you a complete list of contractors that I have found to use so you can do your pool on your own. EX: I paid about $7000 to have DSP manage the plaster install, but it really cost them about $3000 so they profited about $4000 to put the wrong color in. Desert Springs Pools installed a plaster color other than the one I indicated to the salesman PB. They installed the pattern on my stamped concrete in the wrong direction; I did not get the pool light I asked for. EX: I asked for the darkest color plaster possible as I wanted the lagoon look. The contract read; Plaster Color = Blue FQ, you would think the plaster color would be blue, but it was white with blue flakes, since they didn't have the exact sample in their show room I relied on PB. I tried to ask questions, but after you sign the contract they give you a packet that reads. "Do not call us daily and ask questions about your pool". Do you want to do business with a company that says that? When discussing this issue with the owner LW he said, "well you have got to take responsibility for your own pool. There are several other issues that I experience besides the threat of lawsuits that I received after holding back the payment on the plaster install. All they said was "you got the right color" but no one even came out to check on it, I though it may have been a subcontractor who put in the wrong color. But they smugly offered me a $2000 discount which I refused and I paid the entire project in full on principal. I was not about to accept a payoff for bad work as I am considering taking them to arbitration which is how any disputes need to be settled according to the contract. Currently, I am in the process of contacting other DSP customers who have written negative reviews to form a network to support potential pool clients if they choose another company. To replace my plaster I was given an estimate of $5500 by another company, this would be to chip it out and redo, compared to the $7000 I paid for just the install. If DSP wants to "make this right", to quote salesman PB, (I guess he knows he made a mistake) I am happy to let them redo it so I will be a satisfied client, I will remove my posts and go forward with support them for doing the job right. Or if another plaster company wants to redo this for me so I can go forward with writing positive reviews about them I will contact local news to speak about how great they were to help me. My wife and I have been saving and planning for 2 years to get the perfect back yard in our new home, we certainly didn't get it.But until then you decide if your going to take your chances with DSP, what is their customer satisfaction rating?

From the first meeting with Don, we felt confident we were going to receive excellent care and professionalism as well as quality work. As we made changes to the plan, Don was able to accommodate. They fulfilled the work in the exact time and cost estimated. We will recommend Desert Springs to all our friends.
Beautiful landscaping job by

Desert Springs Landscaping did a beautiful job transforming the corner of my yard from an eyesore to the prettiest part of my yard. I just love how it looks now. Don was wonderful coming up with ideas to stay within my budget. The two men that did the work were great, everything came out just like the design drawing. I couldn't be happier. I would definitely go back to them for my future landscaping projects and would recommend them to my friends.
Buyer beware of Desert Springs Pools and Spas! by

Buyer beware! We paid approximately $65,000 for a Desert Springs pool, not to mention we also spent $18,000 for landscaping with them. The $65,000 was for a 16 ft x 38 ft pool with a depth of 6 feet. Unfortunately, that is not what we got and they have yet to remedy this situation for us. The pool is 16 ft x 37â8â and the deepest point of the pool is only 5 feet deep. We had an in-depth, face-to-face discussion with the salesman, Al McIntosh, about why we wanted a 6-foot deep pool. The reason why this was so important to us is because my husband is 6â2â and he did not want to only be only chest deep in our pool in the deep end. When we went over the contract with the salesman (he was on one side of the desk and we were on the other), he pointed to all the numbers on the contract and verbally said everything that we had wanted and discussed, including a depth of 6 feet. He wrote a number for depth that they now are insisting is a 5, but does not look like a 5 and does not look like a 6 either (it could be either a 5 or 6). I didnât realize that I needed to put on my reading glasses and question the number that he wrote down when he was verbally stating exactly what we discussed and what we wanted for our pool. When I called Al McIntosh on the phone, I said to him that I sincerely hope that he was not going to lie and say that we did not spend a considerable amount of time on the importance of the 6-foot depth. Of course, he did lie and just kept repeating to me that he âcould not recallâ.We were also just told to read the back of our contract and that 3-5â is an acceptable margin of error for the length or width of the pool. Naturally, of course, it is not 4 inches over, but it is 4 inches short!Additionally, they are now trying to extort an additional $3,000 from us even though we are paid in full and have all of our documentation that we are paid in full! I have asked for a specific list of everything that we paid for and they have REFUSED to send it to me. They just keep sending a 4-line spreadsheet and say we have any outstanding balance due to their accounting error, but it is not their policy to send a detailed statement of each cost. Also, the first time we sat down with the salesman, we made it clear that we only had an 8-foot wide gate to the back yard and that we had 2 air-conditioning units on that side of the house. He wrote up the contract based on this and then a week (or so) later, he said âoops, we need to charge you an additional $1500 for your dig because our big equipment wonât fit.â We were very, very unhappy about this to say the least and they said that they would give us a bargain and only charge us an additional $500.00. We also talked to 2 other homeowners in our neighborhood that used Desert Springs (unfortunately, not before we contracted with Desert Springs) and they would also never recommend Desert Springs to anyone. And finally, they were unable to get our $600 pool remote and pool heater to work and it was over a month and several visits to our home by several different people before things would work. They also screwed up the installation of our salt system and it leaked like a sieve! Again, it was quite a while before they managed to get it fixed. Naturally, nothing worked when we had family come all the way from Ohio (and California) because it took them so long to fix their screw-ups. There are other reputable pool builders in town and we really regret that we did not choose a different builder!

In early March we started shopping for a pool. We had Anthony Sylvan, Poolscapes and Desert Springs all come out and bid on our backyard. After the initial drawings we rules out Anthony. Both Desert Springs and Poolscapes came back with wonderful drawings. After multiple revisions we ended up going with Desert. Not that Poolscapes was bad, we just liked that Desert has been in buiseness over 15 years. We just finished the project and everything turned out perfect. We also had our landscasping done by Jason Jolfs from Desert Springs Landscaping and his ideas turned out better than I expected. Thanks to all of Desert Springs.
Landscape dream by
very professional and treated me with respect even though my knowledge of landscaping is probably frustrating to people within the industry. the maticulous attention to detail was obvious throughout construction and is even more evident now that its almost a yr old. Mario and Joe did fantastic work to keep their crew on the pace necessarry to meet the completion date along with making sure they cleaned up after each day. I highly recommend them to anyone considering a landscape project
Desert Springs Landscaping came in and redesigned our backyard into a tropical paradise! We are in love with it and our family is so happy. I cant get over how it looks, because when we go back in the backyard it doesnt even feel like we are in the desert. Desert Springs Landscaping is the best landscape company in Las Vegas!
