Located in Tucson, Arizona, Desert Dove Veterinary Hospital is a full service veterinary hospital offering compassionate veterinary care and boarding for small animals. We treat dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, ferrets and pocket sized pets such as hamsters and guinea pigs.Our services include preventive care, spay or neuter, vaccinations, medical care, surgery and dentistry, as well as puppy and kitten visit plans. Microchips are available, too, as are house calls on a limited basis.
If you're leaving home for a while, we can also care for your pet while you're away. We can kennel or board dogs, cats, rabbits and birds, including animals that require daily medication. Because boarding is not our primary focus, we only take a small number of animals at a time, so please make a reservation well in advance.

Dr. O'Rourke is a somewhat decent practitioner...Some of her staff? Not so great. by Mom2three+1 - 10/24/2009My relationship with Desert Dove veterinary Hospital began 6 years ago. I liked Dr. O'rourke. My pets liked Dr. O'rourke (3 dogs, 1 cat). However, she uses her staf members to communicate when I feel she should be taking the time to talk to me herself. She's busy? That's great! I PAID for her expertise and would appreciate receiving it FIRSTHAND. Additionally, there have been a few members of of her staff who seem a little bored and disinterested when I call with a question regarding one of my pets who suffers with a long term illness. There are 2 staff members in particular who don't seem to be able to seperate "real world" from thier ideals and have come across as being a bit sanctimonious when discussing my animals and thier health care. Other staff members have been fabulous. The bottom line is that while Dr. O'rourke is a somewhat decent practitioner, I will be moving my pets to another Veterinary practice. We deserve better than what we've received.
