When my father recently passed away we called DeMoss-Durdan because we had heard good things about their staff from a friend. They were very kind and professional and my family was very happy with their services.
Reduced staff does not equal cost savings

My FIL passed away on June 28, 2008. Our family required only the basic of services and these were provided simply and professionally by the DeMoss staff. Although the costs could have been less had they allowed pre-planning as they do now but a year earlier, when contacted, they told me I could not do that.What disallows me from any positive review, is this:On the day that my FIL passed, I contacted the service to have my FIL transported to the funeral home. As you might imagine, emotions were running very distressed. In my experience, funeral transport vehicles have always been attended by 2 attendants. When the car arrived there was only 1 attendant, the driver. The situation required 2 people and there was no offer to have another attendant come and help the situation. In order to make things happen rather than allow the emotion charged experience to draw out any longer, I was required to help the attendant prepare, drape and lift my FIL body to the stretcher, down a long porch and
