Poor Customer Service by dogparent74 - 06/25/2009I read some of the poor reviews but I decided to use this clinic since it was closest to my home. Initially I was satisfied with the level of service (I had a minor complaint after asking to see their kenneling facility and being told no - I feel more comfortable boarding my dog when I know the environment will be comfortable for them).Recently, however, after I ran low on heart worm preventative I placed an order on-line at '1800petmeds.com'. I've never had an issue with this before; I've lived all over the country and have had many orders filled on-line. In this case, I was notified that the vet had declined my prescription.Soon thereafter someone from this vet's office called to tell me that in order to use a different pharmacy I would need to go by their office, sign a waiver and pay them $10 for this "service'.I can accept their ludicrous explanation for the waiver: they don't want me to sue if the pharmacy sends the wrong prescription (I've never heard this from a Medical D
Vaccine tactics by SVH - 07/26/2008Be aware that if your pet is or has any illness, they are not suppost to vaccinate your pet. If they do? It will result in death of your pet. Ask me how I know? It happened to me. They will make it look like it was not their fault or not except the blame.
Rabies Vaccine Policy by DiverPony - 07/11/2008The Rabies Vaccine Policy for this Companion Clinic goes against the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association's recommendations for booster vaccines. This policy will cost unwary pet owners an additional 29.64 per neutered pet, per year! That is a months worth of dog food. Companion Animal Clinics claim to be "low cost" clinics designed to meet the needs of low income families and seniors that don't want to be forced to give up their companion pets. Their policy states that if your pet+s booster rabies vaccine is not given on or before the exact date due, then the new vaccine will only be good for one year. This is bogus! Have them refer to Part 1.B.1(a) of the Compendium for Animal Rabies at www.oregonvma.org. Do not be taken by this underhanded tactic that causes owners to pay an annual exam fee for a booster vaccine that is good for 3 years! It also prevents owners from being able to take advantage of Licensing Discounts of 20.00 per neutered pet for the 3yr license.
