I now respect what Tammy and jeremy seen, in my 1870's Victorian Home. The Craftsmanship and material I paid for was worth every penny . It all came together with the metal Standing seam and Hardyboard. Then combs redone my wood work under the softies, and added half round gutters. 5 stars to JEREMY AND TAMMY THANKS. Didn't Repair Damage
by KatWat , 04/14/2014
We chose Combs Roofing to repair a roof leak/damage based on their online reviews. Poor workmanship in the initial work made the original leak worse and created two additional leaks â one of which caused ceiling damage. Unfortunately, Combs refused to take responsibility for the damage, even though it was minor. For this reason, I wonât use Combs again. We had a drip leak in our sunroom that we hired them to fix along with roof damage. Less than a week later in a rainstorm, we had a stream in the sunroom and leaks on both sides of the fireplace that filled several pots full of water. Combs reworked the repair, and weâve had no more leaks. But they said their initial work didnât cause the new leaks and damage? Iâm not sure how they can say that when I was on the roof when one of their employees found the problem, and rework corrected the leaks. Mistakes happen, and reputable companies stand good for mistakes. Yet, Combs did not offer help to clean up, advice about drying the dry wall so it could be saved, and refused to repair the damage. I asked and was told they had insurance. My bad in not requesting proof. Is not standing good for damage a lack of business ethics? While Iâm not sure, I think itâs more a cash flow problem. Jeremyâs wife requested partial payment after the first dayâs work to have enough money to put gas in company trucks. I paid the remainder immediately upon completion of the job without withholding money to see if the work would hold up. It didnât, and I was stuck with repairing the damage.Iâm all for supporting local businesses, but they need to deliver quality work and stand behind the job. Check references. You canât always count on online reviews. In this situation, Jeremyâs wife said they paid Angieâs List membership for customers who would write a good review. Itâs not the first time that small businesses have told me they pay memberships for online reviews. This can skew online opinions & was the reason we hired them. We ended up paying 50% more than the estimate for additional roofing work and using more of our shingles. While we repaired the damaged ceiling ourselves, it wasnât cheap to buy the materials and required significant time. A lesson learned. We still have roofing work to do, so Iâm back to researching local companies.
Condo Associantion Roof Leaks
by Stephens , 05/13/2013
Thank you to Jeremy Combs and Combs roofing. As the Prfesident of our Home Owners Association I was very thankful for his dedication, expertise, and honesty. Our complex had leaks in several of our buildings. Some were new, others were the result of shoddy work done by other roofers. Jeremy took on the project and fixed the leaks and repaired work done incorrectly by other roofers. It was a mess with a lot of loose strings previously left unattended. Combs managed to identify every area of concern and worked with stressed out owners.Awesome job Jeremy! Thank you.
True Peace of Mind for Big Home Repair
by C. Lamb , 02/28/2013
Several years ago I knew I was going to have to replace the roof on my steep pitched, arts and craft style home. I knew it was going to be expensive and was worried about finding the right roofing company that would do the job right the first time. Lets face it, when tasked with such a big job that is important for the appearance as well as the long term protection and value of your home, you need a competent, experienced company that would not take advantage of your inexperience and lack of knowledge. It was very daunting which was the reason I kept putting it off. Finally, I decided to get a couple of estimates. I looked through the phone book and only selected the roofing companies that advertised they were bonded, insured, and provided a warranty on their work. Providentially, one of them was Combs Roofing. Mr. Combs came out right away and I was impressed with his polite and respectful attitude. He appeared very knowledgeable and provided almost all the information about the roofing job that our house needed very quickly. A lot of times he anticipated and answered my questions before I asked them. It definitely set my mind at ease with his knowledge and desire to do things right, not just provide the cheapest quote to get my business. We are extremely pleased with their work and know that our roof was expertly and correctly replaced.
THE ONLY TRUE QUALIFIED COMPANY FOR STANDING SEAM METAL & RUBBER
by Dr. James Otis , 01/25/2013
We have an 1800's home which needed the original Standing Seam wrap around the porch roofing replaced plus a chimney that needed to be Flashed and Counter Flashed properly. Plus a flat roof that had Rubber roofing applied. We received several estimates for this work from other contractors but Combs Roofing was selected based on the recommendation from Lyon Metal Roofing. When any manufacturer recommends the best man at what they do to install their metal, I trusted their referral. The owner, Jeremy Combs said he loves doing metal roofing. He definitely illustrated this by his attention to detail and actually being on the job supervising his workers to insure they did things correctly. He ALWAYS kept me informed of when they would be working and actually showed up when they said they would. This alone speaks highly of Jeremy, Tammy, & Combs Roofing because most other contractors I've dealt with in the past didn't show up at all or keep me informed. They cleaned up our yard each day before they left. I can't say enough good things about their quality work and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. I posted an "A" rating on Angie's List as well, and nominated them for the "Angel Page".
TOP RATE QUALITY WORK WITH NO SUPRISES
by Ruth Gutierrez , 01/03/2013
Detailed contracts were made with estimated costs and payment schedules. These were presented to me for approval.Starting date and estimated finishing time were set. They removed the old shingle roof. Replaced all the bad wood under roofing. Insulated Bubble Wrap was added between the new felt and metal roof. New insulation was blown in their recommendation while the roof was being replaced. The new metal roof purchased from Lyon Metal Roofing was installed. Soffits were replaced with vents added. A thorough clean up was done after the job was completed. We were VERY pleased with the finished product. Combs Roofing did a lot of extra work. The front porch was so deteriorated that it had to be completely re-framed and attached higher in the roof for water to run off properly in the future. Much of the roof overhang and (soffit / facia) wood all had to be replaced. Vents were added to the soffits. They also recommended that the insulation be replaced while the roof was off. This was subcontracted with a discount they were able to obtain. The chimney which was in bad shape was re-flashed counter-flashed, and properly sealed. Existing gutters were readjusted. I was kept fully informed of all needed changes and recommendations and cost adjustments. There were no surprises and all cost adjustments were discussed in detail and changes were only made with my approval. Stain was applied to all soffits and where needed. They were able to work with the wet weather encountered. Mr. Combs was very knowledgeable and professional at his work. I placed this same rating on Angie's List, gave them an "A" on price, quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND COMBS ROOFING, even nominated them for the "Page of Happiness" on Angie's List. I would hire them again for any of my needs.
HANDS DOWN - THE BEST AT WHAT THEY DO
by Amos Moss , 10/19/2012
I used Combs Roofing because all others who came for an estimate because Jeremy was the only one who took the time to explain what was wrong with my roof, and exactly how he would fix it. Educated me, not throw me a paper like all others who never showed when they promised. I didn't have to hunt him down, he always showed as promised. He and his wife helped us choose the right roof and color. My house looks new again and is perfect. Crew was professional, and friendly. IF YOU NEED A ROOF, GUTTERS, SIDING, CALL COMBS ROOFING.
