COLORADO no so GREAT OUTDOORS--DO NOT USE THIS BOAT SHOP!!!!!!!!! by VERY ANGRY EX-CUSTOMER - 07/01/2009I took my boat in for an overheating problem. They told me they removed the thermostat housing and took old impeller pieces out. They also told me they replaced the gasket and that the boat was running at normal operating temp. First day on the water the engine overheated AGAIN. I went back and the owner told me that I should remove the thermostat housing again and check to see if any more impeller parts were in the housing. I pulled it apart, the therm housing was old and very brittle and I took out pieces of the old impeller that were over an inch long. I confronted them on this and they told me they don't replace the gasket if they appear serviceable. REALLY? He also told me that those enormous impeller pieces must have passed through the thermostat, through the engine, and back in to the housing where they got stuck. REALLY? I do not have a closed system so I doubt it. They charged me $80 and refused to give me a refund. REALLY? Never again, stay away or you will be sorry
Terrible Service and more problems as a result of their repair. by jdusafa82@yahoo - 07/16/2008This shop had my boat 4 months and after their "repair" had a water leak induced by their work. Took 6 weeks for that work to be completed. When I picked up the boat they tried to give me a boat cover that did not belong to me. I hope that the right owner gets that back as it was an expensive custom job. First time out on the boat after their "repair", and installation of new bilge pump I did not ask for, had new problems induced by their work. Wiring of new bilge pump was causing me to blow fuses to pump and bilge blower motor. Also battery case was missing it's cover. Tried numerous times to call but no one would pick up the phone. Finally went in to the shop and was told to bring it back so I could wait another 2 weeks to hear what they find. Forget that battery case cover too, bet they gave it to someone else. Will never use them again. Unfortunate for Colorado Springs that Al West downsized his shop so he is swamped. I dealt with him 15 years ago and his shop was much better.
