Are you kidding me? by another satisfied student - 09/09/2009I find the reviews painful to read hearing such lies coming form women who can't think for themselves. Its funny that I heard from most of you that you had the best experiences with the school and that you learned so much.Only then to put down your previous educators. I watched you suck up and when you thought it couldn't get you any where you turned. I guess hiding behind a website is easier then acting as an adult to solve problems correctly. I transferred into this school and have had the most incredible experience. I learned more then being at a GETTO School like most of you transferred into. Trash belongs in the trash so I can see why you would prefer it there. This school required you to have a drive in the field and if you needed someone to baby sit you then its not the right school for you. I guess its easier to blame YOUR shortcomings and YOUR lack of success on someone else. Shame on all of you for vindictive behavior and your lies.It will come back to you as karma always does.
paramedical class by former student trying to help - 08/27/2009When I took the paramedical class at CSPE, I had to cry at the end. And I wasn't the only one. Most of what was actually taught to us was basic information that should have been provided in the basics class anyway. Some of the guest speakers were former esthetics students who were working in the different fields...one was an Edward Jones INsurance rep who tried to sell us insurance and the other was doing a Usana business and wanted us to buy their vitamins and shakes and get involved in their multi level marketing business. It angered a lot of us to have our time wasted when we paid for paramedical esthetics training. CSPE's overseeing doctor for the clinic side, who is a cardiologist, even told the class that he heard a lot of info during the paramedical course that wasnt completely accurate. We were even told that botox injections will get into your brain! and everyone in the industry knows thats not true. Advanced paramedical classes should offer more than this school did.
Oh and on the Paramedical thing... by esty - 08/27/2009Paramedical Esthetics is another CERTIFICATION you can gain, just like a microdermabrasion, or laser course and it is being more widely used in our industry. Just because this school was one of the first places to get it STATE APPROVED to offer it -- doesn't mean it doesn't exist, nor that it is meaningless. I am finding a lot of places using this term and it is giving me much more marketability as an esthetician.
poor choice for a school by narrow path - 08/24/2009This was a horrible school experience for me. I learned very little and am still trying to gain education five months after graduating. This school has a really poor reputation and I only wish there had actually been online reviews when I chose CSPE a year ago...that would have saved me $15,000 to use toward a reputable school that actually teaches the trade. No structure and very outdated machinery and techniques. They still teach brow and eyebrow tinting which estheticians are not allowed to perform in Colorado. Do your research before you throw your money away here.
Very Shady School by Kat - 08/22/2009I believe this school is currently under investigation by the State after so many students complained. I know they just laid off the majority of their instructors and the State has been by their school to revamp their administrative paperwork. When I went to this school, I was very disappointed by the lack of instruction, lack of care, and filthy facilities. I've spoken to several transfer students and am so envious of them. The owner is two-faced and very superficial. Please be careful of her. The school has a very bad reputation among all places I've interviewed. I had to retake a lot of my classes at the College of International Esthetics in order for employers to take me seriously. Make sure to visit all esthetic schools before committing and remember that "paramedical" is a coined phrase but is not legally recognized in the state of CO. Any aesthetician working under an MD is considered a medical aesthetician (it's even written in the textbook).
