Not so happy by Steve - 07/14/2009My daughter has been at the school for 3 years. Each year the recital is pure chaos! In addition, the costumes are way over price and fall apart before the show. This year show 4 was sold out and many parents and family members did not get tickets. The teachers where generally 5 minutes late and let them out 5 minutes early for a 45 minute class. There is a lack of communication about costumes, pictures, show tickets and rehersals. Unless you are looking for a dance team and very competive school this is not the one you want.
We love it! by momincolorado - 10/31/2007My daughters have been taking classes here since the school opened. The dance staff is very professional and competent. Of course, like any new business there are 'bumps' now and again, but the staff is happy to help with any issues, to my complete satisfaction.
As for recitals, please remember that this is the biggest dance school in Parker, and one of the biggest in the entire South Metro area. The recitals are very professional, performed on a real stage, with accompanying lighting, music, and direction. You can't say that about any other local dance school. As with any performance, there will be glitches. Last years' recital went very smoothly, considering how many actual shows there were, and the amount of planning necessary.
Regarding the cost of costumes, I actually did my research, and Colorado School of Dance's costume are LESS expensive than the other dance schools in town, and the recital is twice as professional. You can't beat it.
Lovin' Dance by sxwanke - 09/24/2007My daughter has been at Colorado School of Dance for 3 years and we have loved the teachers and classes. The recital can be hectic, but 2006 was much improved.
Enjoying Pom Poms by goss4 - 09/14/2007My daughter is having so much fun in her junior pom poms class. Her teacher is obviously talented and knows how to combine a good time with incorporating the skills necessary to excel in poms.
Dancin Diva by sdh - 09/12/2007My daughter took dance here for two years. We were happy with the teachers, the facility and the recital. I thought that the recital ran very smoothly and the kids were adorable.
Dancing fun by rascal - 09/06/2007My daughter really enjoyed the hip-hop classes at Colorado School of Dance. We did not participate in the recitals due to the cost of the photos, shoes and costumes.
Dance Recital Chaos by tworascals - 08/30/2007We liked the teachers okay but my daughter was never terribly excited about going to dance class or performing in the dance recital. When it came time for the recitals it was pure chaos. We have participated in recitals for two years in a row. I was hoping the second year was going to be better than the first but to no avail. Very unorganized and poor direction on what was expected. The costumes were very much over priced. We won't be going back to Colorado School of Dance but will look for a better place.
