Description: Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital is a companion animal hospital whose mission is to offer state-of-the-art medical and surgical care to its patients. As an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association, CTAH must meet the high standards set by the association. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) established standards for veterinary care and fosters professionalism in all aspects of hospital operations. To become AAHA certified, a hospital must comply with all standards and is evaluated on a regular basis. Only 12% of hospitals in the United States and Canada have met these qualifications and we are proud to be one of them. We are enthused about offering top quality veterinary care to our patients and clients. We welcome all types of companion animals in our newly enlarged and remodeled veterinary hospital. New patients are always welcome.

Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital has been at its current location since September of 1972. Many changes and additions have taken place since then. A building was added in 1988 to allow separate and additional space for boarding of animals. Updates have occurred inside the hospital, the most recent being a 40% increase in the floor space and total reconfiguration of the interior to better accommodate our patients, clients, and staff. The new clinic includes:

a refurbished and enlarged reception area with separate seating for dogs and cats
a new staff room
a new surgical suite
a new laboratory
an additional (fourth) exam room/grief counseling area
a dental/ultrasound suite
a surgical preparation area
a doctor's reference library
a new patient isolation area
These changes have allowed us to continue to offer the high level of care our clients have come to expect over the years.

Disappointed Customer

by Disappointed , 03/18/2014

They have a new lady in the front receptionist area that might check you in if she is not too busy talking . She is not friendly and too business like when she will talk to you. She shows noooo!! compassion and could care less if have a problem with your pet. There is a older lady who will and does help you if you are lucky enough to get to talk to her but she is not always there. This place seemed to run better when the previous Dr. was there but now it seems to have lost it"s friendly openness that it use to have. Not sure if I will be going there anymore. The new owner Dr. seems to be very good , however the new staff people are not as caring or concerned about my pets well being, or so it seems. I"am a dissatisfied customer and may be looking for a new place to take my furry little friends. Im not even sure that the employees there even care anymore !!

not a good choice

The charge for services is much higher at Colonial Terrace than most of the other vet clinics in Dubuque. Also, after paying the bill, they will later send you an invoice, for services they "forgot" to include. A friend of mine who had spent more than $3000 there in a couple of years, was recently contacted by them to pay $6.60 for a presciption they had forgotten to add to her $370 bill a couple of months back.
