Description: Hi, my name is Chris Clark. My wife and I are the owners and I'm the operator of Clark's Tire and Automotive. I've always enjoyed working in automotive. I got my start in the business fixing up tractors on my grandfather Dave's farm while growing up in Deer Park, WA. He taught me a great deal about the workings of machinery and how to work on motors. I got my first job in my automotive career in 1992 at a Les Schwab Tire center right here in Spokane, WA. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to help people with their vehicles. I learned much of what I know today from the training I received from Les himself as well as my other coworkers over the course of my eight years at Les Schwab. The years following, I managed many different automotive companies around the Spokane area. The training and experience I've received has made me part of who I am today.

Along the way, I was fortunate enough to meet my life and business partner, Erin. I first met Erin as a customer in a store I was managing in the fall of 2003. We dated until November of 2005 when she became my wife. She is everything to me and my constant inspiration. She inspired me to fulfill my dream of owning my own automotive store. I started out as the co-owner of Lloyd's Tire and Automotive and exactly one year later, I bought out my partner and started Clark's Tire and Automotive at our flagship store on Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley, WA.

My wife is a successful Registered Nurse who's dedicated her life to helping people. She also helps out with the business when she can. My mother-in-law, Gail, is our bookkeeper. Clark's Tire and Automotive is a family company and we do our best to treat all of our customers as family. Our motto is, "Friendly Neighborhood Service" and we make every effort to make that apparent to each customer who walks into a Clark's store. The next time your vehicle needs servicing, stop by Clark's Tire and Automotive and enjoy some complimentary coffee, popcorn, and good conversation while we service your vehicle. We hope to see you soon!

Great old fashioned service

Limped in there a few minutes before closing with a leaking tire. I figured they had me over a barrel and would sell me a new pair. Not so...ten minutes later the gal handed me back my keys with a smile and said she fixed a leaky valve stem. I asked how much I owed and she said nothing. Definitely going to make this my shop!

Excellent, efficient service in an emergency!

Trustworthy & Exceeded My Expectations! This is a Female-Friendly Shop!

by winrlose , 04/01/2013

Dec 2012: This night, I REALLY needed a tire! I'd stopped in at a tire shop close to my job to check on a used tire. My budget was pretty tight and when the man said $65, I had to say, "No, Thank You" and try to find a less expensive solution to my problem. Misled by my GPS and in need of a tire, I happened across Clark's Tire & Auto by accident. I arrived near closing time, but that was fine by them. They were happy to help. The very first thing that stood out to me was that even though they were still very busy they weren't rushing people out the door so they could get home. They were genuinely concerned with taking care of the customer. Waiting my turn and continuing to observe, I noticed that Chris was greeting customers by name, which told me that he had built some relationships and had good repeat business. As a female automotive customer, I have experienced the "abuse" of shops that prey on women, so naturally, I went in skeptical- but I only needed a quick used tire- So, no big deal! I can't tell you how many times I heard him say, "There will be no charge for that today" as he turned the customer's car back to them. I was only there about twenty minutes and in that time I must have heard him say that 5 different times to 5 different people. Then, it was my turn at the counter to settle up. Would you believe Chris told me that I didn't owe a thing. The tire was on them. I so appreciated hearing those words. He had no way of knowing my financial dilemma that day and it was truly a blessing and I needed that. It stayed with me because people just don't do that anymore so, I was pleasantly surprised. March 2013: I am driving to work, I am a half a mile away from parking my car and starting my day. It is icy and I slide into a curb. I immediately know something is wrong. I take my car to LLoyd's Automotive in Coeur d'Alene because it is near work and I need to get this fixed with a quickness. I needed to have my control arm replaced, that is the extent of my damage. I leave my car for the day and after multiple calls from them telling me what else is needed and how much more the cost is going to go up, which, BTW, is nearly $300 above what the Ford dealership quoted, I tell them to take my car off their rack. I am beginning to feel "the abuse." The cost has now escalated $615 over what I was quoted over the course of three calls. Each time I would approve something, they would call back with something else, going up several hundred dollars each time. It was more than the norm and I'd had enough. I needed someone I could trust. Remembering my 1st experience at Clark's, I drove my car 25+ miles to get there because I knew after the amount of money spent at LLoyd's, and considering the parts they replaced, I should be seeing a marked improvement and this was clearly WORSE that when I drove it with the busted control arm. Clark's was able to diagnose the problem quickly and immediately noticed some poor repair work (and that's being generous) from the last repair shop. Clark's solved my problem and even loaned me a car while I waited. They have been very reasonable about the cost. He has even fixed things along the way at "no additional charge." I am thoroughly impressed with the integrity of Clark's Tire and the high level of customer service they provide. My opinion of the overall quality of service and the pricing there is excellent. I highly recommend Clark's Tire. They have really earned my business and I would travel the extra miles to get there. If you are a female or just anyone concerned about having your credit cards molested by bad shops and con-artists, I feel confident recommending them and know that you will leave this place a satisfied customer. They more than exceeded my expectations.

Great service and price

I first went to Clark's with a flat tire and Chris told me it was not repairable due to a nail in the sidewall. He had a used tire with about 60 % tread left so he put it on and said, No charge! Just come see me next time you need something. "Wow, who does that anymore" So from that moment on my friends and family are doing business with this local company. So thank you Clark's for all you do for the community and the people you serve.Steve W.

Stay Away From Clark's Tire

by Too Many Problems , 03/05/2012

I have been going to Clark''s Tire for over a year and over the approximately 15 visits, they did not do the work they were asked to do on two of these visists, did not replace the oil cap during an oil change on another visit and did $1,300.00 to the driver's door while changing a wheel on my last visit and then denied it and lied about the surrounding circumstances. Mr. Clark clearly did not know what happened in his own shop so he fabricated his own story.

I am responding to you on here yet again as discussed with you on many occasions we did used factory OEM parts from the DEALER! We gave you the option to take it to an exhaust shop to have after market exhaust and sensors installed and you chose to have us do it. I told you we would be more because we used factory parts and again you said, go ahead and fix it! I don't know why you would write this on here to be honest with you. I will be contacting DEX and ask to have this removed and will call you again. I asked you to take it to the dealer and you took it in and they said, yes it is factory parts. So again we are talking about it? So please call me to discuss this again please or feel free to write the BBB.
