Do not choose a rental with this company. Very unprofessional, non-customer service oriented desk staff. Be sure to know that when you apply for a rental with this company, they don't notify you that they just SCHEDULE A VIEWING FOR YOU. I was sent an email with a date and time to be. In most cases, this would've been ok, but I was relocating from Portland to Eugene. I couldn't just drop everything and drive 2 hours. But the main thing was when I called their staff to find another time for the appointment, they were very cold, very unwilling to help, and made it clear that the only person's schedule that mattered to them we're their own & the previous tenants'. They didn't return my application fees but I can give them some understanding on this part because it states non-refundable on the application. But this really is at their discretion. BELL REAL ESTATE is a great company. Their app said the same but because someone else's app was just ahead of ours, and they got the rental, they returned our fees because nothing was processed. This was the same situation with Chinook but they handled it very differently. I ended up going with a private landlord and not a PM company. Good luck if you choose Chinook!

This is probably one of the worst property management companies I have come across. I own properties myself but needed to rent an place for my son since he is a U of O student. The property manager didn't show up for the viewing time of the property and my son waited about an hour. He had to call to see what happened and they didn't answer their calls for several hours. Finally when they go a hold of them they just said " Sorry we forgot". Upon lease signing time they just hand you the keys without a walk through showing you everything about the place. They give you a piece of paper to do it yourself. The house was in bad condition, nothing was painted, carpets weren't vacuumed and the smelled like urine. Windows wouldn't open and there were no screens on the windows even it you got them open. We went in the office to complain and to turn in the walk through list with needed repairs. After a month we heard no word back from them so my husband flew back to Oregon to talk to them and all they said was the carpets were cleaned prior to move in ( even though they were dirty) and we will let you know about checking the windows. My son lived there about 8 months and still never heard back about the items that needed to be fixed. If you are a property owner you should go with a firm that will work for the money you will pay them to manage your property. If you are a tenant you just will need to realize that they won't reply to any repair requests. It is by far the worst property management firm I have come across. Thank goodness I manage my own properties, these people give people like us a bad name.
