After spending the last two years in a home with a horrible landlord my wife and I decided we wanted to buy a home when we moved out of the Northern Virginia area. However, we were extremely hesitant due to everything that had happened with the housing market and seeing many of our friends buy homes that needed repairs almost immediately after they had moved in.

VA Mortgage Center immediately found us a realtor to work with us while we were visiting Brunswick, GA for our ten days of house hunting. After telling us who our realtor would be we immediately received an email from Mrs. Linda Stone, of Century 21 America Heritage, informing us who she was and asking us what we were looking for. My wife told Linda our price range, some specific dimensions, and options we’d like to have. By the end of the day Linda had already sent us nearly 20 different listing in the area with all the information about each house and additional pictures. We sent Linda the houses we liked so that she had a good idea of what we were looking for before we drove down from Virginia. Linda immediately started calling the listing agents on all of the properties and found many were under contract, so she again starting sending us more houses to give us as many options as possible.

When we got down to Georgia Linda took us to six different houses around Brunswick in the first day. We immediately found that we loved that Linda wasn’t acting like a used car sales man and trying to convince us how great ever house was. She just let my wife and I look around each house and make our own opinions and she answered any questions we had. What I loved even more is that if we walked into a place and immediately knew it wasn’t one we liked, Linda didn’t try to get us to look at the whole house just because we were there. While traveling to the different homes Linda answered any questions we had about the neighborhood or houses and we always got a straight answer out of her. You could tell Linda was honest with us and had our best interests at heart.

We were quick to find two homes that we wanted to put in an offer on and what was nice to see is Linda didn’t stop trying to find us more options even though we were happy with what we had seen. She took us out to both homes multiple times, so we were able to look over each home again to better decide which we preferred. Again she allowed us to determine which homes we preferred and I never felt like she was trying to pressure us.

Once we determined the home we wanted to go with Linda quickly got our paperwork together so we could put in an offer on the home. She walked us through all the paperwork and we could tell she was extremely knowledgeable on all of it. She explained each sheet of paperwork in detail instead of just saying sign here, here, and here. Once the seller accepted our offer once again Linda was quick to notify us and let us know what needed to happen next.

At the end of this experience we walked away completely impressed and happy with the support was got for Linda. I was surprised that I felt more stress when I bought my last car than buying my first home, and I attribute this to Linda and her kind professionalism.
