The mission of Central United Methodist Church located in the university area in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. As a United Methodist congregation we are built on the foundation of God’s grace. Grace is a free gift to us of God’s unmerited love, mercy and forgiveness. We believe that God calls us to live in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and to live in community with one another in service to the world.
This means that we want people to experience God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in such a way that their lives are changed and that they begin to live in a way that other lives are changed.
We believe that loving God, loving ourselves and loving our neighbor are the three parts of the Christian life that work together. We do this in a variety of ways at Central:
We love God through worship and supporting God’s mission in the world through
our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.
We love our selves through Christian community including Sunday school classes, Bible study, fellowship, and all kinds of activities for various ages including children, youth and adults
We love our neighbors through outreach ministries, evangelism and hospitality.
