Varicose Vein Treatments
CVD utilizes the VNUS (www.vnus.com) ClosureFastTM Radio-Frequency vein ablation catheter to treat the source of your varicose veins. CVD is a VNUSTM Certified Training Site to train other doctors. CVD also utilizes the VNUS ClosureRFSTM (small catheter stylet) to treat refluxing communicating veins, or perforators. Again, our doctors are the most experienced doctors in your community. We also train other doctors on this device and hold regular courses on perforator vein disease.

DVT Screening
During your first ultrasound, your Sonographer and Doctor will rule out a blood clot in your deep venous system and superficial venous system. After each procedure, you will be required to return to the office for a post-procedure DVT scan as part of the FDA protocol. The incidence of having a blood clot is rare. We will monitor your treatment progress and any complications along the way. Ruling out a blood clot before, during, and after your procedures is very important.


Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy
CVD utilizes ultrasound diagnostics provided by GE Healthcare. Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy utilizes the skill of visual sclerotherapy with the technology that ultrasound images can offer to enhance the placement of the sclero solution inside the treated vein. UGS, as it is often called, is used quite frequently at CVD as the first step in the cosmetic outcome you are looking for. This would follow any scheduled vein ablation procedures. CVD only uses FDA approved sclerotherapy solutions.


Cosmetic Laser Treatment
CVD utilizes a proven treatment method that utilizes vein ablation of all refluxing or diseased veins, followed by cosmetic clean up of the treated leg. This is accomplished by using cosmetic lasers that target specific size spider veins. This step is usually the last step in your treatment and may or may not be paid for by your insurance company.

Insurance Advocate Treatment Program
CVD is your insurance advocate. We spend about 30-50% of our time chasing down patient pre-authorizations and pre-determinations. Selecting a doctor who understands the insurance requirements and follows them makes the patient less likely to be billed directly for the services. Ultimately, the patient is responsible for payment on all services. If you are treated by a doctor who is not following the insurance requirements (conservative therapy, FDA approved technology, non-experimental, etc...), you could be responsible for the entire fees associated with your doctors bill. CVD understands these requirements and works with your insurance company to help make sure you get the best treatment and the least cost to you out-of-pocket. We're in Network on most major plans.

Our CVD staff has been trained at every location to answer your questions completely related to venous disease treatment. The staff has years of experience and is cross trained on every aspect of our office operations. If you are not satisfied, please ask to speak with your doctor or the Practice Coordinator.
