Great vet by KittyLover - 11/16/2009I took my kitty here for pending oral surgery, and during pre-op bloodwork, it was found he has diabetes. Instead of being $-oriented and keeping the schedule for the $$$$ surgery, Dr. Keyes seemed very focused on prescribing what was in the best interest of my kitty, ie, making sure he is healthy and stabilized before putting him under. I know this seems like it should be a no-brainer that a vet should do this, but from my experience not all vets always seem to have the best interest of the animal in mind, unfortunately. Dr. Keyes took the time to talk thoroughly with me regarding my kitty's diagnosis. The vet tech Colleen was especially helpful, as well, and all of the staff I encountered were very knowledgeable and friendly. Also, the clinic is very clean and pleasant, and the clinic cats are absolutely adorable. Long story short, my kitty will now be a patient of Dr. Keyes. She really seems to know her stuff and care about the kitties, too. :)
Excellent care by Arizonan - 08/11/2009Since 2002 I have brought 4 cats to Dr. Keyes. Never had a bad experience. Always positive, caring staff. Dr. Keyes is an excellent diagnostician. In 2002, I brought my cat to an eastside vet center. They diagnosed him as having a mouth infection. After spending lots of money on antibiotics and other medications, he still had difficulty eating. I went to Dr. Keyes for a second opinion. The actual diagnosis was oral cancer. Quite different than a mouth infection. To naturalvista@gmail.com, understand this is not a fast food establishment. Unforseen situations occur and the Vet runs late. I would suspect you would not have a problem if Dr. Keyes ran late with her next appointment because of the time she needed to take with your cat. I will continue to use Dr. Keyes as my Vet. And I live in Green Valley, Arizona (34 miles away).
Positive Experience Over 6 Years by Happy Customer - 08/10/2009Over the past 6 years, I have taken 3 cats to the Cat Hospital for annual exams and treatment, and I love it there! My cats do, too.
wonderful cat care by extucsonan - 07/07/2009I have three cats who were cared for by the Cat Hospital and have had wonderful experiences there. I just moved to indianapolis and would have loved to find the same kind and compassionate care for my cats here as I did in Tucson. Do not let the comments of one disgruntled customer dissuade from the wonderful care your cats could receive.
UNFAIR REVIEW IMHO by CATFREAK - 06/22/2009I just have to respond to the other reviewer. I have two cats that mean the world to me. After not having a very pleasant experience at another Cats Only vet in town, the techs at The Southern Arizona Veterinary Emergency Center recommended Dr. Keyes and her team to me. I have had nothing but exemplary service there. I have not waited for any unreasonable time in the reception room. The techs have all been courteous, knowledgeable, and most importantly, humane and skillful with my cats. I would not recommend any other vet BUT Dr. Keyes to anyone who valued their cat's health and happiness. My male cat is currently being treated for some bowel complications right now and is doing much better thanks to the entire staff under Dr. Keyes. To say that she should lose her license i think is ridiculous. Ignore the 1 star review and their ramblings. They're either confused about which vet they went to or more likely, got a few screws lose.
DON'T EVER TAKE YOUR CAT HERE by naturalvista@gmail.com - 05/04/2009This was the worst experience my cats and I have ever had. Although we were on time for our appointment, we waited a long time for someone to come in. The techs kept going in and out, doing a couple things then leaving, rather than doing everything at once. By time the vet showed up we had waited an hour and my cats were quite aggitated. They chased one around the room as they apparently didn't know how to handle him, and couldn't see how hyper he was. He was sick for several days after, and ran and hid anytime he saw anyone. My female, who is quite docile, was also sick and frightened by this unprofessional behavior. This is the first time this has happened in 12 years of vet visits, with these cats, and over 25 years with other pets. We were new to Tucson and thought a place specializing in "cats" would be perfect. WRONG!!!She should lose her license and the place should be closed down.
