Bait and Switch Advertising - Consumer Fraud

Beware this dealer advertises a vehicle at a price than when called they say the vehicle is actually priced thousands of dollars higher. They will not sell the vehicle at the price they had it advertised at. Beware of this dishonest dealership.

Olivia called us twice to make appointment to see the car I was looking for. Finally we went there and the car was not there. We thought it happens . we did another appointment the next day. Before we went there, we called them to be sure car is there. THE CAR WAS NOT THERE, they said one of managers took it ( is he more important than costumer?) . They lied us, they play stupid unfair way with a smile. They don`t want to sell this car.

Castle took VERY good care of me. I bought my 2012 Chevy Malibu from them and they treated me like family. My stigma of dealers being out to get you has been changed by Castle Chevrolet. Thanks guys!! Look forward to taking full advantage of the Castle Difference as well!!

We drove from St. Louis, Mo. to the dealership (roughly 300 miles) based on their internet ad, in which they misrepresented the condition of vehicle given that it had a cracked windshield and obvious front bumper damage. We came with our own financing and negotiated in good faith and asked that they give us time to go to lunch and talk it over. While at lunch we called them and made another offer asking the manager to consider it and call us back. When the saleman returned our call he informed us that another customer had just bought the vehicle at full sticker. They did not offer the opportunity to match the 'new bid'. Which we thought would have been fair and good business practice. The worst part of the manager's reasoning for their actions and his exact words were "he's (meaning the new customer) is paying full sticker and we are making the money on the financing" and "we are the fasting growing dealership in the country" Ironically, the saleman (Ryan Sitter) during his pitch gloated on their reputation of taking the sleaze out of a sleazy business! This ranks pretty high on our 'sleazy' meter.

Avoid this dealer!

Avoid Castle Chevrolet at all costs.

I inquired from another state about a used vehicle in their inventory and was assured on multiple occasions by their "Internet Manager" that the vehicle had not been wrecked or repainted for any other reasons. I then spent over $500 in airfare to arrive at their location with the intent of purchasing the vehicle and driving it home to Kansas. Upon arrival I was immediately urged to sign paperwork and pay for the vehicle before even inspecting it in person. I refused, of course, and once I was allowed to inspect the car the salesman avoided having me walk around the vehicle in sunlight, only allowing me at first to view it in the service bay. After insisting upon seeing it outside I observed very obvious over-spray on several areas of the car, and the front door and hood would not even latch properly. It was now obvious to me that they were simply risking my time and money to see if I would go ahead and take a previously wrecked car rather than returning home and starting my search over -- the salesman understood that I was preparing for a cross-country move and only had that weekend to purchase a vehicle.

When I complained about being misled the "manager" responded with, "If you are just trying to get a better deal, forget it, that's as low as I'm going to go." He also explained the shoddy paintwork and over-spray by saying, "My salesman told me you were particular, so we were only doing what you asked of us by trying to make it look as good as possible" (in other words, it's MY fault). To make matters worse, they left me on my own for a ride back to the airport, where I spent additional money having to fly home.

I have been in the retail car industry myself for almost 20 years, and even though I have spent my working life in this business, I thought these kinds of experiences with car dealers only occurred in movies, or maybe in the 1970's. They were aware that I was a "car guy" myself and still pulled this on me. I can't imagine what they attempt with less experienced buyers. Unbelievable.
