44 cents? Was it worth it???? If I could give you 0 stars I would!!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE do not support this store!!!



Today we went to Capitola. We go there as often as possible as this is one of our favorite places. Every time we go we visit the Taffy Store. It is one of the highlights of our visit. Today my 14 year old went to the store before us. He went in for the sample which we have always done. He went purposefully to his favorite taffy, got his sample and then started to leave. He then decided that he would bring one piece for his two little brothers back at the beach, which he has done before. He was not sneaky and made no attempt to hide what he was doing. He knows that we ALWAYS go in, get samples and by a big bag on our way home. As he was walking out of the store, an old lady with short black hair called him back. He did not run. She proceeded to tell him that he was to sit and wait for the police. She called them because he had stolen 3 pieces of taffy. He tried to explain what he was doing but she would not let him speak. When the police officer showed up she actually wanted to press charges for 44 cents worth of taffy. She would not listen to him explain what he was doing. He did not see the NO SAMPLES sign. Even the police officer said the he really did not think he did anything wrong. My son was polite and respectful during his ordeal. Which was also noted by the officer.



It gets better! Go to http://www.capitolavilla… where it states "Decide which of the 70-plus delectable flavors strikes your fancy by treating yourself to a free sample." So in reality, Taffy Witch called the police on a 14 year old boy for "stealing" about 30 cents worth of taffy. Needless to say we did not go back and buy our typical $10 bucks worth of taffy.



We go to Capitola about 30 times a year. We have in the past spent at least $10 a visit at this store. So I ask again; Was it worth it??? We will never go back. I will post this on my Facebook account, any other review site I can find and spread this story to everyone who will listen.
