Cardiology Northwest is a long established veterinary cardiology practice located in Portland, OR. We serve clients in the Pacific Northwest and across the country. Our goal is to increase quality of life and longevity by continuously challenging the odds of animal heart disease with the most current medical technology. We care for patients with both immediate and chronic heart conditions and strive for happy pets and peace of mind. Our mission is to partner with with absolute love for your pet.

Dr. Gary Wood is a board certified Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) specialty of cardiology. In addition to years of experience practicing in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Wood has undergone intensive general practice veterinary training at Colorado State University. He also has an additional 5 years of post DVM training in cardiology, including a residency at the University of California at Davis. A pioneer in veterinary cardiology medicine, Dr. Wood has earned the trust and confidence of patients, clients, and veterinarians both locally & internationally.

Dr. Kathryn Atkinson is also a board certified Diplomate in the ACVIM specialty of cardiology. She received her DVM degree from the Ontario Veterinary College where she also pursued a 1-year rotating small animal internship. She completed a 3-year residency in veterinary cardiology and a M.S. degree at the University of Missouri. In addition, her professional career includes 4 years practicing general & emergency medicine in Ottawa and Vancouver.
