Recently I had a small "bump" under my arm. I went to the Express Care and wasn't even seen by a Dr. A PA (Physician's Assistant) did not even touch the small bump (never even put on a glove).. talked to me for NOT MORE THAN 2 MINUTES and said to go and see another physician to have it removed. CHARGE: $848.00

Cape Fear Valley

Agree with the above posters my husband went to express care in September 2011 we received the bill paid it and went about our business a week ago Feb 2012 we received a bill for 64.00 when I called to question it they said it was billed to our insurance and it was a facility fee that we had to pay because our insurance did not cover it. When I mentioned that I had not seen an EOB they said they would send me a copy. Today I received not a copy of the EOB but a accounting printout that basically has the amount they say we owe, it does not list what it's for or even if they filed it through our insurance. Will definitely be going to another urgent care where I know there are no "hidden" fees
Not up front in billing
by Frustrated , 01/10/2012
They are not upfront with their billing. I was told that my co-pay with insurance was $75. Turns out this was their facility charge. Next thing you know I get another bill from the doctor!! This was not disclosed and is not how it works with non- Cape Fear associated urgent cares. Will not use again!

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! My husband went to this practice the day before Thanksgiving because of a sore throat. He was told that they accepted our insurance BCBSNC. After waiting 2.5 hours, he was taken back and saw the Dr. for 5 minutes. They did a strep test and it was negative. We just received a bill for 161 dollars and were told that we will be receiving another one for 150. This is WITH insurance. Apparently ExpressCare bills everything through the hospital so your copay doesnât apply. They charge you a hospital facility charge and a hospital doctor charge. For a rapid strep test, we will end up owing over 300 dollars. If we had gone to an urgent care without insurance, we would have paid less. Be care what they tell you and what you sign because this place is dishonest!
