In responding to customer reviews, DEX recommends not to discredit or insult the reviewer. To that I would agree. However DEX provides no guidance as to how it should be handled when the reviewer is simply being, (I'll be gracious here) deceptive. Let's take it point by point. I've searched through four years of customer database and in those four years I have NO customers named Mort. When I personally give a business a review I have the courage to use my own name. Then come the inaccuracies. "Mort" says he purchased a Leer brand topper but we installed it with "cheap foam tape". Very interesting. Had he actually spoken with someone at Leer as he implied, he would have learned that ALL Leer tops come standard with that very same "thick rubber gasket" installed from the factory. So the question begs to be asked, how does "Mort" know how we installed this with "cheap foam tape" anyway? Since customers are not allowed in the installation bays, the only way "Mort" would know that we for some unexplained reason would have removed Leer's pre-installed gasket and then added to our cost by using another roll of "cheap foam tape", he would have had to remove the top himself to look. Perhaps in doing his own inspection he damaged his own vehicle? Probably, since we look over each customer vehicle before we deliver it and we usually, but not always, walk out with the customer to show them how to use their top. In the rare event we do damage a customer vehicle, I have several well known body shops at our disposal and we have used them to our customers' satisfaction. This leaves the "public records" finale. Since I'm a principal of the corporation I should know about any and all "lawsuits" filed against us. I'd greatly appreciate if "Mort" could forward his sources because our attorney of record would like to know about them.
