Had engine work done to my 05 ultra classic. Had a 95in kit put on, had to take it back over & over still they could not fix it, they gave me the old run around trip (9 months). Took my bike to another shop an found out that they didn't give me any clearance between the larger valve springs retainers and the rocker arm covers. Had to take California Harley to court, in court the shop foreman said that they knew about the interference and that the valve spring retainer would just hit the cover and eventually create its own clearance. Have you ever hear of a race car engine with no clearances or will make it's own by pounding to different metals together until one gives up plus what happens to the metal that is being chipped off? It ends up in your engine and now your engine get to ground it up, if dirt will hurt your engine what will metal chips do? The judge agreed that the rocker arm covers were not installed correctly and had them pay to fix the clearance problem.

This problem caused many other problems in my engine which I had to pay for out of my own pocket. If you have any thing done at California Harley service department make sure that you get every thing in writing and have a buddy with you so you can have a witness. Number of times you go back dates and times who did you talk too. All I got to say is " IF YOU LOVE YOUR BIKE DON'T TAKE IT HERE FOR SERVICE"!! Word to the wise is sufficient.
