Cakes by Jula made and decorated a birthday cake for my granddaughter based on a picture she had seen. The cake matched perfectly to what was requested. Not only was the cake beautiful but it was moist and the icing was delicious. Could not have more pleased with the results and the ease in ordering over the phone and emailing a picture.

We were headed to a family gathering on Labor Day and decided to bring some cupcakes from Cakes by Jula. Because it was a holiday, we knew the shop may be closed. We stopped by and I hopped out of the car only to find the door locked and no cakes in sight. As I turned to go back to the car, a man opened the door and greeted me with a smile. I told him we were hoping they sold cakes on labor day and he said they did but were now closed but asked what we were looking for. We smiled and said we were really hoping for some cupcakes because she has the best and he went inside, grabbed some for us and said don't tell his wife!!! I saw her hand them to him though, so I can only assume that they are both as sweet as the cakes she bakes. If you have yet to try her cupcakes we've never had one better! Thanks Jula for being great!

I ordered a cake for my son's 13th Birthday.....The cake was very dry not moist at all, the buttercream frosting tasted to salty. Won't be ordering anymore cakes from there. Worst cake ever!

I had a terrible experience with Cakes by Jula. I ordered my daughter's birthday cake weeks in advance. I brought in a napkin showing the theme of the party - Hello Kitty. When ordering the cake, we explained that it was a Hello Kitty party, hence the Hello Kitty napkin I brought in. She asked if we wanted it to say "Hello Kitty" underneath the picture of Hello Kitty and we said that we didn't, but instead that's where we wanted it to say "Happy 2nd Birthday, Sydney" The girl taking the order repeated back to us what we wanted, and we agreed that was exactly what we needed for her party. I even called the bakery the day before to make sure everything was in order. I sent my husband to pick up the cake the morning of the party. When I opened the box I saw a cake that was not at all what we had ordered. Instead of a Hello Kitty cake, it was a balloon cake. There was NOT A HELLO KITTY ANYWHERE ON THE CAKE. I immediately called the bakery to explain that this cake would not work for the party. They refused to fix the problem or even give a refund. With no time left for us to get a new cake, we were out of luck. Not only was Jula not helpful in trying to repair the matter, she yelled at us and even HUNG UP on us! She said that on the order it said "No Hello Kitty" but obviously the girl who took the order meant to not write the words "Hello Kitty". Jula says that is OUR fault. Psh - why on earth would I send in a napkin with Hello Kitty on it for her to do a cake depicting balloons?! How does that make sense? If there was any question as to what we wanted, they could have called us at any time to clarify. I will NEVER use this bakery again. I absolutely do not recommend Cakes by Jula.

The cake here is pretty good. Definately better than anything I could make, but times not very fresh and textures are kinda too firm for my taste.

The cake is one of the most important show pieces for a party. Especially for a themed babyshower! I emailed a specfic picture of a theme (Modern Mommy) and was told by the owner Jula that she could do the cake exactly like the picture on the email. I even had a friend come go into the bakery shop and take a copy of the picture that I wanted on the cake. It was supposed to be made out of fondant. It looked nothing like the picture I requested. I was so upset ...the cake was supposed to be main decoration. When I called her on Saturday (May 15th), the day of the shower..she wasn't there and I was assured by Claire the person who answered the phone..that I would definetly get a call back from Jula. It's Monday the 17th and still no call. The cake tasted horrible and the decoration it had was ugly. I will never order a cake from here nor will I recommend it to anyone! The pictures on the website look nothing like the cakes in person! If you are thinking about ordering a cake from here ...I wouldn't. Let see if I get a call from her now.
