In mid-April we had C & F come out and give an estimate on kitchen cabinets/pantry. From the beginning, I made it clear that I was going to be away much of the summer and while I didn't need the cabinets to be installed before I left mid-June I did need to have all the details worked out so that the cabinets would be ready for installation by mid-August (before my work got busy again). After the initial estimate I made several trips to the showroom (always by appointment since C & F does not allow you to just come by) to get the details hammered down. I scheduled the "final" measuring --due to C & F's busy schedule this was not until June 1. Both my husband and I took off work to be here when Steve did the final measuring so we could ensure a smooth process. Steve showed, but said he didn't have time to do the measurements. He acted like he had never even seen our kitchen before (despite the fact he did the initial measuring)! He said that he couldn't do the final measurements until Casey was with him and I needed to call and set up another appointment. I called and talked to Jennifer several times over the next week and she said Steve would have to set things up and she would have him call me. Nobody ever called--mind you that was early June and it is now August!

Look, places get busy and this was only an $8000 project. But, my time is valuable, too and it is disgusting that C & F couldn't even bother to call to let me know what was going on or when things could get rolling.

I will also mention that I needed to have some existing cabinets painted to match and tried unsuccessfully several times to get the color information out of C & F. Finally Jennifer said she couldn't even tell me if the cabinets would be glossy or flat--not my choice, she said. It would depend on whatever the last job was because I couldn't expect them to switch out the paint every time. Actually, yeah, I do. That's sort of the difference between custom cabinets and not.

The short and long of it is this--Steve is quite abrasive as an individual and this cabinet company really doesn't care if it gets your business or not. I had heard good things about C & F from a contractor friend, but that was not my experience. In the end, I went with a company out of Coats that built beautiful cabinets, did custom work (no hooey about having to take whatever paint was left in their sprayer), and cost several hundred dollars less than C & F. And, did I mention that C & F wanted to nickle and dime for everything while this place included silverware drawers and full extension drawer hardware (not Chinese) for free?

My advice? If you are looking at C & F for cabinets, keep looking.

C n F cabinets renovated my kitchen two years ago. I tecently hired them again to install a new cabinets in my master bath room. Their prices, installation time, and service are superior to Lowes, Home Depot and Brocks. It's hard to believe a "custom" solution was less expensive, but it was!! They were very punctual and that means a lot when you have to take time off from work. They called a head to let you know when they would be arriving. The installation was done to the "T" and the crew was very professional and easy to speak with. One of the owners was there to install and made sure that it was perfect. The cabinets were built and looked awesome. I had a kitchen put in our old house two years ago and it took them a few days just to get the cabinets in and they kept missing pieces. C&F installed in about 6 hrs. I couldn't be happier. The cabinets are high quality you would see in million dollar homes. Thanks C&F!

These folks are AWESOME! Had them install cabinets in my kitchen almost 2 years ago and I am still highly impressed. Everyone is kind and professional from the sales staff to the installers. Everyone was either on time or early. Cabinets are made of ACTUAL WOOD, not this pressed/particle board garbage of other cabinet makers. You have to see THEIR cabinets to believe what they can do. The best part is....they did the custom job (INSTALLED) for me for just a little more than I could have DIY with the trash particle board cabinets at Lowe's or HD.I am a hard person to please and I give them an OUTSTANDING!!! Out of all the contractors I have had at my house, these are the ONLY folks I will call back in the future.The only thing to keep in mind (which isn't really a negative) ...these are "custom cabinets". That means they actually have to build them. That also means there IS a lead time, so call them early. You can't call them on Monday and expect cabinets by Friday...

I built a house in Raeford in 2004, C & F provided the some of the most beautiful cabinets and granite that I have seen. The price was outstanding. This experience combined w/ a great builder (Keith Jackson) was my best building experience ever (out of 3 other builds). I am currently building in N. Va and I'm considering C & F for my cabinets again. Awesome.
