I lived a total of 8 years on Same property mgmt. 2 of the years in Boise. Moved to Brookside in 2009. I'm elderly, disabled & a very clean respectful Tennant. Never received complaints, loved my neighbors. Because I have as one of my medical issues renal failure & PTSD. Because of my disability I'm blessed to receive a portion of Section 8 housing. When it came time for 7th year lease signing I was told by my housing agent I needed to check with Brookside (VERITY PROPERTY MGMT) as she heard they were not going to accept my new lease. After on site manager called corporate office, I didn't get a call back I received a 60 day eviction notice. By time I received a mandatory voucher meeting to get approval to find another apartment I had a total of 18 days to find a place and move.Not expecting to be moving I had to sell washer & Dryer to get $400 deposit required with new apartment.I was devastated & very hurt that I asked to evict for NO reasons except of receiving help because of my disability. Then to put more hurt to my pain I had my 2 nieces help me clean apartment, we patched picture holes, moved cleaned appliances inside & out. The apartment was cleaner than when I moved in. I was refused a walk through move out.Excuse was I had to have an appt scheduled. It was Friday 11:30pm when we finished cleaning. I went over on Saturday & no one in office. Monday they are closed. I called about my $250 deposit. I gave new address waiting for my money. Instead they charged $100 for cleaning, $69.carpet cleaning.Lied & claimed damages, charged month to month charge when on 60 day notice they told me to be out by 7th of month. I didn't ask to go over 1st of month they told me to be out by that date. The prorated amount was paid by me & housing. They wanted $100 more. Long story, but I was so hurt. When your elderly you remember people being trustworthy, respectable. Not only did they take my $250 they charged extra $86..damages? We even washed walls, blinds, windows. I'm so hurt! Having PTSD from home invasions it was exceptionally hard. It's been since March 2015 & I'm still scared of new surroundings.I heard rumors of people not getting deposits back, but I was naive enough to think it wasn't true. I made it my home & they took my security of life & money. Shame!!
