Your books are worth more somewhere else. by ProAmazon - 05/22/2009
I took several of my books into this store, all of them 1-3 years old. They took 11 of my books and offered me $31 store credit or - get this - $5 cash. I drove 20 miles to this place so I took the credit. Well, I was going to make a trip back to look for a book on CD when I looked at the redemption slip. That's when I noticed that my credit was only good for: "role playing games, DVD's, CDs, gallery, video games, software, and gift certificates," I can't even buy books with the credit I received for giving them books! It's okay for buying, but I wouldn't recommend selling your stuff here.

PROS:I thought this bookmans employees have very good personalitys, makeing it more of a better stay. Theyr videogame prices are amazingly awsome, aswell. I looked up the price for "The Movies" PC game, and I found at almost every store and website it was $20, but I went to this bookmans and found it for only $5!CONS:But I do reccomend checking diffrent bookmans aswell because some items will be cheaper at diffrent locations. Also, do NOT trade in items, because they wont give you much at all.

Trade Rip Off by Native New Yorker - 12/02/2008
I brought in brand new gift items to sell (I'm currently unemployed); things that were still in their boxes. Bookman's sells such items for about $8 each, so I expected to receive $2-$4 each. NOPE! I was offered $1 A PIECE for each item!!! I could have had a Garage Sale and gotten more money. Same thing for books. I know they're a business, but C'MON. They charge you for 50% off the price of the book REGARDLESS of their condition. For many reasons this is a place to avoid.

they pay 1/4th cost so they can sell at half cost. its a great system. for getting rid of stuff your done with or didnt want and cant return.they have helped me gain and get rid of many things many times.a great service. they carry programs for computers,books, movies, comics, magazines,video games,guides ,lil gifts etc. thank you bookmans! you have saved me much money over the years oh and they pay more if you take credit instead of cash. tip of the day.

I went to this store and they ripped me off on a trade in. I had several boxes of video games and I was hurting for cash. I took what they offered but I could have gotten 4x's the value from online and a least double from any other pawn shop. Stay away from this place to trade anything other than books as EVERYONE give more then these guys. They also have no idea how to price things as they are typically priced higher than anywhere else and will even have 2 different prices for the same item sitting next to each other! BEWARE - BE WARNED!

If you believe that a used book is as good as a new book, this is the place for you. Wide selection of books in all genres. A great selection of VHS and DVDs (used), music and other entertainment items. If you are looking for that rare gem or a popular option you will be in luck at Bookmans.
