I could not be more pleased with the piano tuning that Jon Bonine has provided since we purchased our first piano in 1994. And besides his flawless tuning, he has also taken care of any mechanical issues that have arisen over the 22 years. Besides his superb work Jon has always been on-time, delightful and very professional.

Jon has been tuning my piano since I bought it in 2006. My piano has been very well cared for by him, and as a professional here in the Treasure Valley I appreciate his vast knowledge in piano technicalities and his honest professional opinions. Beyond tuning, he is quick to respond to my calls about any other issues I need fixed with my piano, be int squeaking pedal or anything else. He is a great guy and has made a life customer out of me.

In my opinion, Jon Bonine is the finest in town. He is a great musician aside from being a great piano technician. He is honest and gives the same stellar service to everyone, from a beginner in piano to the famous artists he often works with. I am a professional pianist and teacher and have used Jon for years. He is the best!

I purchased a piano from Welch Music in 2005, and it came with a free tuning. I initially thought I'd just get my free tuning, and then try to find the best technician in town after that. I was really impressed with Jon's work, so I'll never use anyone else. He has always gone above and beyond for me. Whether it is fixing a key that is rubbing a little wrong, or adjusting the depth of my pedal, he has always kept my instrument in fine form. He has also voiced the instrument for me. My piano just SINGS after he works on it. There have been times when I needed work in an emergency and he has stopped by the house in a very timely manner. He does great work and is totally dependable. You will be pleased with his work.

I was exceptionally impressed with Jon’s service and his amiable demeanor. My step dad’s piano needed some major work some of which included fixing some keys and tuning. I wanted to get it fixed in time before his birthday. Unfortunately the other two repair shops that I sought didn’t have availability within the time frame that I was requesting. Jon was kind in accommodating his schedule in such a short time notice to make sure that my step dad’s piano was finished in time for his birthday. I won’t lie that I was a little skeptical about making the deal as I thought that because I had given him a short notice the price would be out of my price range. Indeed it wasn’t! Great service for such a great price! Not to mention, my dad was quite impressed with his piano! Thanks, Jon!

I was first introduced to Pianoforte Music as a teacher and pianist representing the Schimmel line of pianos at a local music store. Jon was the only technician this store would use. He has been the technician for my Yamaha C5 for years, and I refer him to my students. His experience and professionalism, positive and friendly nature, and personal knowledge and memory of my instrument are all important to me as a professional musician and nationally certified teacher. Highly recommended!

Rude Technician

I'm so sad at how Jon treated me on the phone. I was so excited to work with him from the way his daughter was so kind to me on the phone when scheduling and quoting. I had no issue with pricing and paying what his work is worth, but after Jon not showing up for my appointment and I had waited for him and then having him call me and tell me he had work to do and didn't want to waste his time if I misheard what his daughter quoted. I didn't and price wasn't an issue at all. His attitude was. I told him it was not cool to call after said appointment and then say he would be "wasting his time and had work to do". I am just blown away. He then said I should just find someone else when I told him I was upset that he was calling after his appointment time. Why not call me earlier so I didn't waste time waiting for a technician that would never show up and that would then treat me poorly over the phone? I'm so upset by the extreme lack of customer service he showed me.
