Bloomington Parks & Recreation maintains more than 10,000 acres of parks and open space in Bloomington, Minn. It offers recreation programs and services specifically designed for people with disabilities. It provides opportunities for outdoor aquatics, including the Bloomington Family Aquatic Center, Bush Lake Beach and swimming lessons. Its swimming and water safety program teaches people to swim and to be safe when in, on and around water. The park offers a wide variety of children's entertainment, including theater, puppetry, mime, magic, juggling, clowns, music and storytelling. It provides sports programs, including basketball, pickleball, softball, football, tennis and volleyball. Its day camp offers activities for campers, such as crafts, games, camp craft skills, swimming, canoeing and field trips. The department operates gymnastic and summer spectrum programs. It has a historical pond house and playgrounds, and offers skating classes and aerobic activities.
